Wednesday, May 11

– AAA held a news conference in Mexico to announce teams for the second-annual Lucha Libre World Cup. Included were three teams from Japan representing Zero-1, NOAH, and OZ Academy. Top stars are Naomichi Maurfuji, Akebono, and Masato Tanaka.

Already announced for the tournament is a squad from TNA, Rey Mysterio captaining a team, a lucha legends team, and more. The tournament is scheduled for June 3 and 5 in Mexico. (SuperLuchas Info) (PuroresuSpirit on three Japan teams)

Monday, May 9

– The latest in the series of New Japan/Suzuki-Gun vs. NOAH matches has been announced for June 18 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

The “Suzuki-Gun 3” main event will be Minoru Suzuki & Takashi Sugiura & Takashi Iizuka vs. Naomichi Marufuji & Sakuraba & NJPW goofball Toru Yano in a six-man tag match.

– Also announced for Korakuen Hall in June is Wrestle-1’s next big show on June 8. Top matches have been announced, including Great Muta in action.

– Rounding out the Korakuen match announcements is All Japan’s next big show on May 22 featuring a World Jr. Hvt. Title match between Atsushi Aoki and Masashi Takeda.

New Japan announced the top three matches for their big “Dominion” PPV on June 19.

  • IWGP World Hvt. champion Naito vs. former champ Kazuchika Okada
  • IWGP IC champion Kenny Omega vs. Tanahashi in the first-ever NJPW laddermatch
  • NEVER Openweight champion Yuji Nagata vs. former champ Shibata

All Japan announced Jun Akiyama for their “Power Series” show on May 21 in Yokohama, Japan. Akiyama is scheduled to face Daichi Hashimoto. (Full Story)

New Japan Results featuring the CHAOS vs. L.I.J. faction warfare.

NOAH announced their event cards for May and June. Included is a big card on May 28 in Osaka featuring top titles on the line.

The May 28 main event includes Takashi Sugiura vs. Go Shiozaki for the GHC Hvt. Title, Lance Archer & Smith, Jr. vs. Tag League winners Naomichi Marufuji & Toru Yano for the GHC Tag Titles, and a GHC Jr. Tag Title match. (Full Line-ups)

Ring of Honor announced the main event for the final tour stop of the ROH vs. New Japan series next week. (Full Story)
