WWE’s “Summerslam Concert” canceled next weekend

Aug. 13 Update: The “Summerslam Concert” presented by WWE and Flo Rida has been cancelled.

The event, which WWE heavily advertised last week during Raw and Smackdown, was to kick off Summerslam Weekend at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Barclays Center’s official statement reads: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the concert on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Barclays Center featuring Flo Rida, Jason Derulo, Daya, and Jordan Hollywood has been canceled. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.”

Summerslam Weekend will now kick off with NXT Takeover on August 20, followed by Summerslam on Aug. 21 and post-Summerslam Raw on Aug. 22.

WWE announced Monday the first “Summerslam Concert” scheduled for Thursday, August 18 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The concert is being put on by Flo Rida benefiting Connor’s Cure. WWE stars, including Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, are scheduled to appear at the event.

Along with Flo Rida, scheduled performers include Jason Derulo, Daya, and Jordan Hollywood.

The event is officially being put on by WWE, the Barclays Center, and iHeartMedia. Tickets go on-sale this Friday, July 29.
