(1) JERICHO vs. BLAKE CHRISTIAN (w/Jay Lethal)

WINNER: Jericho in 11:00
(White’s Take: Blake Christian looked good in defeat, which is the only way to see the guy for people who don’t watch ROH. Meanwhile, I guess it was obvious that Jericho would win on the Jericho cruise, but the match wasn’t great, and Jericho’s attire, which was likely meant to be cheeky, was mostly just embarrassing.)
-They showed a snippet of Nick Wayne saying he’s going to take over the Jericho cruise, having beaten Chris Jericho. Twice.
-Lexy was in the middle of the ring and welcomed The New Level. Kofi and Creed made their way to the ring as their music played. Lexi asked if they felt like Swerve manipulated them into the Texas Death Match. Creed says that’s crazy, but Bandido attacked Kofi because of what Swerve did. He said Bandido’s problem is now with them, so they’ll be taking the trios titles and a pound of flesh next week. Kofi said they know how much Swerve hates Hangman but they didn’t want a Texas Death Match. They didn’t want to be brutalized, mutilated, or have to go to a dark place. He said they’re scared, but not scared of Bandido, Brody, or Hangman. They’re afraid of what they have to become to win the match. Kofi said they didn’t have a problem, but if they want a problem, no problem. Creed said they’re going to go to a place they’ve never been before. To a new level. Their music played and they headed back up the ramp.
(White’s Take: A well-delivered logical promo that explains how we go to the Texas Death Match.)
-They showed a highlight video for the Blood & Guts matches from Wednesday.

Shelley cashed Stokely on the outside and through the ring, allowing Dax to roll him up from behind and Dax got the pin with a handful of tights.
WINNERS: FTR in 16:00
(White’s Take: This was a really good tag team match. All four iterations have been mostly very good. The downside is that it’s been clear since the jump that the series was going to five matches. So, the matches has lacked intrigue up until this point, despite being well-worked. Luckily, the fifth match will automatically have stakes and will likely be the best match in the series.)
-They threw to a video of Fletcher and Ospreay’s friendship and rivalry.

WINNER: Nick Wayne in 8:00
[HOUR TWO]
Nick grabbed the mic after the match and addressed the crowd as “the chat.” He asked if they had heard the news. The crowd chanted for him to shut up as he said he’s the captain of the ship and he’s been win-maxxing, because he beat Chris Jericho. The ship’s horn blasted instead of pyro.
(White’s Take: A quick fun match that puts over Nick as a threat in the ring and a future hall of famer in the douchebag department, especially with the post-match promo. Mathers got his spots to shine as well, and the former WWE ID talent could be a wrestler to watch if he doesn’t get stuck in ROH purgatory.)
-They showed a video package of ROH wrestler Brady Booker appearing on Survivor.

WINNERS: The Death Riders in 11:00
(White’s Take: The Death Riders beating Shane Taylor Promotions is a staple of Collision. This was your typical random multi-man match that was perfectly fine but not particularly exciting and definitely not surprising.)
-Moxley took a mic and said the odds don’t look good for the Death Riders, but they don’t care what the odds are. He promised Jay White and The Cut that he would make them earn it.
Mercedes Mone’s music played and she trotted out to the stage and asked where Marina was. She posited that she jumped ship when she heard the CEO was on the ship. Mercedes said she wold embarrass Marina at Full Gear, and told Moxley to keep that “bitch” on a leash. Moxley laughed, saying they won’t take that personally. WINNER: Persephone in 13:00
(White’s Take: Pretty good match with a story of each woman working a body part, except that didn’t actually play into the finish. Still, well-worked and Persephone gets a heelish win to advance her towards a rematch with Aminata, which hopefully warrants a spot on the main card at Full Gear.)
-After the match, Persephone pummeled Mina and set up for the Razor’s Edge, but Queen Aminata’s music played. Persephone dropped Mina and ducked out of as Aminata hit the ring.

WINNER: Tomasso Ciampa in 13:00 to capture the National Championship
(White’s Take: This match was superior to their recent PPV match simply by removing some of the pants-related stupidity. Although some of that remained, Ciampa remained serious throughout the match .A ref bump and a low blow protects Andrade and, with a world title shot in his pocket, he doesn’t really have much need to the National title. Although you could argue the company has no need for the title either. On the plus side, it gives Ciampa something, and if this transitions to a Ciampa and Dragunov feud, I’m here for it.)
Ciampa took the title and celebrated with his daughter in the crowd. Speedball came to the ring to check on Andrade as Schiavone ran down matches from Wednesday and they went off the air.
FINAL THOUGHTS: This was on the higher end of Collision due a good main event with a newsworthy finish. Not sure why we needed an eight-minute overrun when there was about an hour or so they could’ve easily trimmed off. However, the set up was unique and memorable and we got mostly good matches with some advancements in the storyline between The Cut and The Death Riders. Still a skippable episode of Collision, but I’d say there are a few things that warrant a recap on Dynamite, and that’s not always case.
