The show opened with a tribute video to the El Paso shooting, followed by the National Anthem.

Sarah Schreiber was the ring announcer.

(1) Kalisto & Lince Dorado & Sin Cara & Titus O’Neil defeated EC3 & Drew Gulak & Eric Snow & someone else I didn’t recognize. Sin Cara came out with three El Paso Police Officers. They came out in the ring and got a standing ovation. Cool moment. Sin Cara is from El Paso and his return to the ring was well appreciated. A lot of action. At one point Titus put on a luchador Black Panther mask.

(2) Cedric Alexander defeated Cesaro. Very entertaining match, back and forth, for at least 20 minutes. Alexander won with his finisher. Then after the match, the OC came out and destroyed Cedric. They got on the mic and challenged anyone in the back for a match.

(3) The Viking Raiders defeated The OC via DQ after A.J. Styles interfered. Decent match, but I’ve seen it recently too much.

(4) King Corbin defeated Ricochet. Amazing match, lasting around 20 minutes. Corbin went all-out on the King gimmick, asking Ricochet to bow down to him. He never did.

INTERMISSION

(5) Sasha Banks beat Lacey Evans and Natalya when Sasha made Lacey tap out to the Bank Statement. Sasha hands down got the biggest pop of the night. This was a typical triple threat match where there was always one woman on the floor outside the ring recovering. Lacey looked more impressive than her recent TV appearances. She ended up getting some good pops during the match. For some reason Natty got back in ring and they played her music and she kissed and hugged the crowd. I don’t understand why.

(6) A.J. Styles fought Braun Strowman to a no contest for the U.S. Title. When they announced this was the main event, the crowd groaned because the night was still early on a Friday night and the crowd was hoping for more. Strowman pretty much made a puppet of A.J. for the first ten minutes. Anything A.J. did did not affect Strowman. This doesn’t make sense to me because Brawn has never won a big match. Eventually Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows came in to disrupt. The Viking Raiders then came out to defend Braun. At that point, the match was called a no contest. Braun went on the mic and challenged The OC to a six-man tag and they reluctantly accepted.

(7) Braun Strowman & The Viking Raiders beat The O.C. (A.J. Styles & Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows). I felt like I just saw this match, which I did. So I was disappointed.

FINAL NOTES: Commercials advertising Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins being here have been rolling for months. There was a video marquee on our freeway Interstate 10 that advertises events at the UTEP Don Haskins Center. They have had Becky on there for at least three months. For a Friday night show, it felt short but it was entertaining. I personally was upset that there weren’t more women’s matches. Dana Brooke, The IIconics, and Sonya Deville all deserve more.

RECOMMENDED: 9/21 WWE in Shanghai, China: Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan, Xia Li & Carmella vs. Rose & Deville, Gable vs. EC3, KO vs. Andrade, Nakamura vs. Ali
