NJPW is set to run their “Wrestling Dontaku” PPV lineup on May 1. The show will air live with English and Japanese commentary on NJPW World.
Will Ospreay and Tatsumi Fujinami are both off this weekend’s NJPW Wrestling Dontaku event due to COVID-19.
The company confirmed that as a result of PCR testing, both are off the card. A mystery opponent will replace Fujinami in his tag match and Tomohiro Ishii will now replace Ospreay and challenge Hiroshi Tanahashi for the IWGP United States Championship.
The complete card for the event features the following matches:
- Kazuchika Okada vs. Tetsuya Naito – IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match
- Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tomohiro Ishii – vacant IWGP United States Championship match
- El Desperado vs. Taiji Ishimori – IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship match
- Evil vs. Tama Tonga – NEVER Openweight Championship match
- Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb vs. Hirooki Goto & Yoshi-Hashi vs. Bad Luck Fale & Chase Owens – IWGP Tag Team Championship match
- Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Douki – IWGP Jr. Hvt. Tag Team Championship match
- Hiromu Takahashi vs. Yoh
