-Joe Tessitore’s voice welcomed the audience as shots of the State Farm Arena were shown from afar. Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman are shown entering the arena. LA Knight, Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre, Jelly Roll & Randy Orton, Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline, Jimmy Uso, and Gunther are all shown arriving at the arena respectively. Goldberg is shown earlier in the day talking to his son in the empty arena.
-The nostalgic SNME intro aired which led into the newer SNME intro featuring today’s stars. They then showed a brief recap of the Goldberg/Gunther Feud before the opening pyro.
-Joe Tessitore & Jesse Ventura kick off the show proper with Joe asking The Body for his take on each match. Joe then threw to Michael Cole and Wade Barrett at the commentary table.
(1) RANDY ORTON (w/Jelly Roll) vs. DREW MCINTYRE (w/Logan Paul) – WWE US Championship
Orton and McIntyre circled each other as the bell rang with Drew bringing Orton to the corner to attempt a 10 punch. Orton wriggled out, hit a 10 punch of his own, and clotheslined Drew over the ropes. Orton went to suplex Drew on the announce table, Drew countered and dropped Orton on the announce table twice before cutting to a commercial break. (C)
Back from break, the two traded offense until Orton caught Drew with a powerslam when he tried a crossbody from the top. The action spilled outside and Orton suplexed Drew on the announce table three times. Back in the ring, Logan Paul caused a distraction allowing Drew to hit the Claymore. Randy got his foot on the ropes before the three count. Logan Paul and Jelly Roll got in each others face, Paul pushed Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll pushed Paul and knocked him to the ground. Drew starts mouthing off at Jelly Roll asking him if he wanted to fight. Drew went to pick up Orton, Orton hit an RKO out of nowhere for the three count.
Winner: Randy Orton in 8:58 (C)
-Back from break they showed a recap of what just happened.
-Adam Pierce and Nick Aldis were shown yelling at both Drew and Logan Paul.
-Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley was shown in the audience. Jade Cargill was shown, Naomi attacked her and the action spilled over the barricade. Security needed to break the two of them up. Cargill tossed Naomi over the announce table before security was able to finally get them apart. Not to be outdone, Naomi climbed on the table and jumped over the security team to get to Cargill. Aldis made his way to the ring and said that tomorrow night their match will be a special guest referee match, Bianca Belair. Belair made her way to the ring and the segment ended.
-Barrett and Cole talked up Goldberg’s legacy before cutting to a video package on Goldberg’s career. (C)
(2) SOLO SIKOA (w/The Bloodline) vs. JIMMY USO
-Jimmy and Solo began the match staring at one another from across the ring. Solo attacked first, Jimmy blocked with a punch of his own. Solo was dumped outside the ring and Jimmy hit a suicide dive on him.
The action spilled back inside the ring, trading offense back and forth until Solo hit Jimmy with a sidewalk slam for two.
Jimmy was dumped outside the ring. Solo distracted the ref as Talla Tonga clotheslined Jimmy behind the ref’s back as they cut to commercial (C).
Sikoa was in control of the match, battling his brother on the apron when we returned from the break. Sikoa pushed Jimmy into the ring post, Jimmy replied with a superkick sending both of them crashing to the apron. The Bloodline cheered Solo on as Jimmy hit a cross body from the top rope for two. Both men recovered for a moment in opposite corners. Jimmy then hit Solo with a hip check in the corner followed by an Uso Splash for another near fall. Sikoa shifted the momentum with a kick and an uranage, Jimmy then ducked the Samoan Spike and headed back up top looking for another Samoan Splash. Solo rolled out of the ring, Jimmy jumped from the top and took out the whole bloodline. Jimmy got Solo back in the ring and behind the ref’s back, Talla Tonga interfered allowing Solo to roll his brother up to retain the title.
Winner: Jimmy Uso
-After the match, the Bloodline began to beat down Jimmy Uso. Jacob Fatu returned, making the save for Jimmy.
-A video package showcasing mostly Goldberg’s WWE run aired.
-A recap of what happened between Orton, Jelly Roll, Paul and McIntyre aired. We cut backstage to Randy and Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll says he wants to fight them any where, any time. Orton calls Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre out to face him and Jelly Roll at SummerSlam
-The Steiner Brothers are shown in the audience.
(3) SETH ROLLINS vs. LA KNIGHT
Once the bell rang, the two men began circling each other with Seth Rollins kind of taunting Knight in an annoying fashion. They trade offense for a little bit, LA Knight repeatedly selling his injured ribs from Smackdown, unable to perform certain offense on Rollins. The action spilled outside and LA Knight bounced Rollin’s head off the announce table a half dozen times. Knight then climbed the announce table and jumped off onto Rollins as they cut to commercial. (C)
Back from break, the two were in the center of the ring, Rollins in control of LA Knight with a leg scissors around the waist. LA Knight fought out, Rollins reversed and slammed Knight to the mat, climbed to the top and hit a splash on the injured ribs of Knight for a two count. Rollins made it back to his feet, taunting Knight in the process. He goes to pick Knight up, Knight begins to fight back with a series of blows Rollins kicked him in the ribs and went for a curb stomp. Knight reversed and hit him with a DDT. Knight made it to his feet and went to the top rope. He hit a flying elbow on Rollins for two.
Knight remained in control for a bit longer until Seth managed to make it to the top rope. Knight climbed up and tried for a superplex. Rollins blocked it and knocked Knight off. Knight climbed back up and tried again. Rollins blocked it and hit him with a powerbomb.
Rollins then went to the apron and nailed a springboard senton. He tried for a standing moonsault, LA Knight moved out of the way. Rollings seemed to tweak his knee on the moonsault and the match came to a stop. The ref kept LA Knight away as officials came out to check on Rollins.
Rollins hobbled to his feet and as soon as he made it to his feet, LA Knight hit the BFT for the win. It’s unclear if this is a legit injury to Rollins, but in my opinion this doesn’t look good.
Winner: LA Knight in 11:35
-The camera stayed on the announce team rather than the ring before cutting to a video package on Gunther vs. Goldberg.
-Blake Monroe and Jacy Jayne were shown in the audience.
-Hype for Evolution tomorrow night, running down the card.
-Randy Orton & Jelly Roll vs. Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre made official for SummerSlam.
(4) GUNTHER vs. GOLDBERG – World Heavyweight Championship
-Gunther made his way to the ring first. Goldbergs music hit and he was accompanied out of his locker room by his son and a slew of people from his past for his last ever entrance.
-Lilian Garcia made announcements before the bell.
-After the bell, the two men circled each other in the ring as the crowd chanted “Goldberg”. Gunther offered a test of strength, when Goldberg went in for it Gunther punted him in the stomach. Goldberg kicked him right back. Gunther chopped Goldberg a few times, Goldberg no sold them all.
Goldberg backed Gunther into the corner, then clotheslined him to the mat. Goldberg went for a Jackhammer and Gunther countered with a clothesline. Gunther went to the top rope, Goldberg press slammed him off the top.
Goldberg set up for the spear, Gunther powdered to the outside. Gunther followed and the two began fighting ringside. Goldberg went to spear Gunther, Gunther dodged and Goldberg sent himself through the barricade (C).
Back from break, Gunther had Goldberg in a submission. Goldberg begins to fight out and the two men get to their feet. They they trade blows until Gunther kicked Goldberg in the back of the braced knee. Goldberg went down to one knee, Gunther walks over and shoved Goldberg by the head.
Goldberg gets up and delivers a spinebuster to Gunther, covered for two. Goldberg backed Gunther into the corner and delivered blows to the spine. The ref broke it up, Goldberg then tried to whip Gunther across the ring. Gunther went for a powerbomb, Goldberg reversed and then went for a spear. Gunther moved and Goldberg speared referee Charles Robinson.
Gunther hit Goldberg down and then went for the braced knee, removing the brace. Gunther paraded around the ring holding that brace over head, and then used it as a weapon on the injured knee of Goldberg. Gunther cracked Goldberg over the head with the brace sending Goldberg to the mat.
Gage Goldberg was shown at ringside. Gunther went up to him and pushed him. Gage pushed jumped the barricade and was held back by security.
Gunther gets back in the ring and was speared by Goldberg. Jackhammer. Goldberg couldnt pin right away due to the pain from his knee. Another ref ran to the ring as Goldberg made the cover. Gunther kicked out at two.
Gunther then locked Goldberg in a sleeperhold, Goldberg tried to escape but ultimately passed out from the move.
Winner: Gunther to retain in 14:28
