[HOUR ONE]

-After “Then, Now, Forever, Together,” Michael Cole introduced the show as they showed an aerial view of the arena in Downtown Cleveland. Then they showed A.J. Lee with C.M. Punk backstage with Becky Lynch seeing A.J. and looking annoyed by her presence. They showed Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky hanging out earlier in the lower bowl seats. They showed Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Dominik Mysterio hanging out playing darts in their clubhouse.

-They cut to the arena where Cole touted attendance of over 10,000. They went to Cole and Corey Graves at ringside. Cole said they had breaking news on Bron Breakker who suffered an injury while training last week and he underwent surgery and will be out indefinitely. He said he’s not sure what the injury is. Graves wondered if some of the chaos lately will affect Breakker to concentrate on training for his return.

-Becky made her entrance, with her music interrupting Graves. Graves said he didn’t mind because it was her. She said there’s only so much disrespect on woman can take. She said she expected to make a big announcement that the corruption at the Royal Rumble had been addressed. She said then she saw A.J. Lee backstage. Lee’s music interrupted Becky. Lee skipped to the ring.

Becky asked what she was doing there. Lee said she was there to support Maxxine Dupri and then hang out backstage catering. Becky said she understands her thing, acting so cute with those eyebrows. Becky said she’s yapping and keeping her awake and ruining her life like a little yipping dog. She said she’s ruining her life. Lee said that’s a big dramatic. She asked how she’s ruining her life, other than beating her at WrestlePalooza and WarGames, plus cost her her title against Maxxine as MSG. She said now that she hears it outloud, she gets what she’s saying. She told Becky she has her belt back, so it’s water under the bridge

Becky laughed maniacally in an unhinged manner. She asked Lee if she wants her to splatter her blood all over he friends and family and ruin her life. “Is that what you want?” Becky asked. Lee paused and said what she’s getting from all of that is she is either having a nervous breakdown or she wants a one-on-one match. Lee said she hasn’t had a singles match in over a decade and it’d have to be really special and worth it. Lee said that she is one of the greatest of all-time. “If I beat you, what does that make me?” she said. “Lucky? Or does it make me better than you?” Becky shook her head manically.

Lee suggested a title shot. Becky said no. The fans chanted “Yes!” Lee said if the answer is no, she’ll just go back to Chicago. Becky said, while wincing, “Fine.” She said she has no idea what she’s in for and said she has no idea what she’s in for. “Welcome to the Big Time,” she said before throwing the mic down.

-They showed Bronson Reed, Paul Heyman, and  Logan Paul backstage. Then they showed the Usos. The Usos made their entrance. Cole said he hoped G.M. Adam Pearce made the Lee-Becky match official.

(Keller’s. Analysis: Good segment. I’m enjoying Becky whose entertaining in feeling tightly wound and on the verge of a complete mental breakdown at all times. Lee stayed away from coming across as cloying and precious, which she walks the line of at times. Instead, here, she met Becky’s insanity with admirable patience and maturity, showing her up in the process. They both struck the right tone.) [c]

-Cole talked about replica WWE Title belts for the Super Bowl Champions, the Seattle Seahawks.

(1) THE USOS vs. OTIS & AKIRA TOZAWA – WWE World Tag Team Title match

The bell rang 19 minutes into the hour. Jey opened against Otis. Tozawa and Jimmy tagged in a minute into the match. Otis pressed Tozawa over his head and threw him onto the Usos as they cut to an early break. [c]

Otis tagged in, but when his back was turned, Jey tagged in and blindsided Otia mid-caterpillar as Otis was aiming for Jimmy. Jey’s kick, though, overshot Otiz. Graves said the knee made contact instead, and it was “extremely effective.” (That’s a stretch.) Jey superkicked Tozawa and then tagged Jimmy back in. They superkicked Otis, but Otis brished it off and clotheslined the Usos. He tagged in Tozawa who landed a top rope dropkick to both Usos. Tozawa then dove through the ropes into Jimmy at ringside. He then dove onto Jey on the other side of the ring. He then went back to dive on Jimmy again. They Jey again. He followed with a top rope senton for a two count at 8:00.

Otis tagged in and lifted Jimmy onto his hsoulders. Jimmy slipped free and then superkicked Tozawa. Jey tagged in and avoided an Otis superkick. The Usos then double-speared Otis. They followed with a 1D for the win.

The Usos helped Tozawa up and all four congratulated each other on a good fight.

WINNERS: The Usos in 11:00 to retain the World Tag Team Titles.

(Keller’s Analysis: Not a match of the year contender by any stretch, with a lot of clunky or slight-off-target spots. The crowd was torn, but popped for the Usos at the end since they got to dance afterward.)

-Jimmy told Jey he needs him to qualify for the Elimination Chamber and then win it and then go back to being Main Event Jey Uso at WrestleMania. Graves said Jimmy remains Jey’s biggest fan and supporter.

-They went to Cole and Saxton. Cole gave Graves a hard time for wearing “the same suit” as Byron. Graves said his was designer and Saxton’s was from the discount bin.

-A video package aired on last week’s Roman Reigns-C.M. Punk segment.

-Cole said he’d have an interview with Punk later in the show.

-Liv Morgan and Dom made their ring entrance. [c]

-Cole plugged some stuff.

-Liv and Dom stood mid-ring. Dom gave Liv flowers and a heart-shaped box of chocolates. He told Liv she was the greatest Royal Rumble winner of all time. Liv said Dom is the greatest Intercontinental Champion ever. Vaquer interrupted, said they talk too much, and spoke to them in Spanish. Liv asked Dom what she said. Dom said she didn’t want to know. Dom spoke to Vaquer in Spanish. She told Liv that Dom said Liv is a little bitch. Vaquer and Liv bickered some more. Vaquer said she hoped Liv chose to face her at WrestleMania. Liv said she wouldn’t rush the decision. Vaquer slapped Dom and left.

-A video package previewed the three women in the Chamber qualifier up next.

-Lyra Valkyria made her entrance. [c]

-Cole hyped WWE World and said Steve Austin would be there.

(2) RHEA RIPLEY vs. LYRA VALKYRIA vs. IVY NILE – Triple Threat match to qualify for the Elimination Chamber

Ripley’s entrance aired. Graves said Rhea has gotten used to tagging with Iyo Sky, and shifting back to singles matches isn’t necessarily easy. Nile suplexed both Ripley and Valkyria. Ripley got the better of Nile at ringside. Valkyria leaped at Rhea through the ropes and head scissored her to the floor. [c]

[HOUR TWO]

Back from the break, Nile threw Ripley and Valkyria off the top rope with a German suplex. Ripley lifted Valkyria onto her shoulders after a failed first attempt. Nile leaped off the top rope toward Valkyria from behind, but Rhea dumped her face-first to the mat. Nile suplexed Ripley and then covered Valkyria for a two count. Nothing felt like quite right in that sequence of moves. Nile lifted Valkyria for a suplex, but Valkyria countered with a small package for a near fall. Nile shoved Valkyria out of the ring after a DDT and tried to steal the pin, but Ripley kicked out at two.

Nile gave Valkyria a spinning uranage that looked more like Valkyria giving her a tornado DDT. Ripley re-entered and set up a Rip Tide, Nile gave Ripley a back stabber instead. Nile gave Valkyria s a sunset flip. Valkyria gave Nile a Night Wing. Ripley broke up the cover with a running knee and then gave Valkyria a Rip Tide for the win.

WINNER: Ripley in 10:00 to earn entry into the Chamber

(Keller’s Analysis: The majority of sequences and spots in that match felt a bit off, but it never became a disaster.)

-Cole hyped Cody Rhodes vs. Javob Fatu vs. Sami Zayn on Smackdown on Friday for entry into the Chamber.

-Backstage, Liv and Raquel checked on Dom, who was holding his chin in pain still. Dom turned to Finn Balor and told him J.D. McDonaugh would be back soon and they can go after the tag titles again and all will be good again. Balor said he thought he made it clear he’s going after Punk’s title. Dom said everyone is talking about Roman and Punk. Balor said he’s tired of being an afterthought. He said he thought they were family.

-They showed Punk walking backstage as Cole said he would conduct an “exclusive interview” with Punk next.

(Keller’s Analysis: Congratulations to Cole for getting this exclusive! How does he do it??) [c]

-Cole stood mid-ring and was about to introduce Punk. He said it might be one of the greatest main events in WrestleMania history when Punk defends against Reigns. Balor barged into the ring and took the mic. He said everyone is so focused on the future, they seem to be forgetting that he left the champ in the ring “like a wounded dog.” He said he won’t let Roman step in take advantage of his kill. He said Reigns took advantage of the top rope breaking when he had him beat in the middle of the ring. He said he’s tired of being an afterthought and being pushed around. He said he wants a shot at Punk at Elimination Chamber. He said Punk beat him on his home turf, and now he’ll beat him on his.

G.M. Adam Pearce walked out with three security guys. He said he had his shot and now they’re on the road to WrestleMania. “Too late,” he said. Balor said, “Just like the Royal Rumble.” Pearce said they’ve known each other too long to let it get ugly. He said he should just leave or he’ll let his men escort him out of there. Punk’s music then played.

Punk came out and was fuming at Balor, who was standing on the announce desk. Pearce told everyone to relax. Punk told Balor he doesn’t deserve a title shot, he deserves an ass beating. Fans chanted “C.M. Punk!” They yelled at each other. Punk said he’s face him. Pearce yelled absolutely not because he wouldn’t put the WrestleMania main event in jeopardy. Punk knelt down and told Pearce he has the clout to demand that match. “I will get my pound of flesh,” he said. Pearce gave in and said Punk vs. Balor for the World Title at Elimination Chamber. Fans cheers turned to boos because they thought they might see the match tonight. (They needed to make it clear it wasn’t happening tonight, as that really took the air out of the announcement.) Balor walked away.

Cole asked Punk why he would jeopardize the WrestleMania main event like that. Punk said he’s not jeopardizing anything. “What I am doing is building something, chasing something,” he said. “And that something is greatness.” He said he wants to be the fighting champion the fans deserve. He said 434 days he was champion, and now he wants to be one percent better every single day. He said he will fight anybody, anywhere, anytime to prove he is the best in the world. He said without risk, there is no reward. (He lost his place here and said, “I am brave enough to know…” before he was supposed to here.) He said he knows it can end any night in any city, but he’s confidence enough to believe “that shit ain’t gonna happen.” He said, “Roman Reigns, you say you hate me, but I don’t truly believe that. How could you hate that. I don’t even think you hate what I’m trying to build. I think you hate that you can’t do a damn thing to stop it.” He said there is one way WrestleMania ends, and that is with his arm raised.

(Keller’s Analysis: That was a fired up Punk!)

-Backstage, Heyman, Logan, Austin Theory, and Breakker walked up to Pearce. Heyman said he used to think he was just a schmuck middle manager. He said he pushed Breakker so hard and he popped a hiatal hernia. He said that’s major surgery and career-ending surgery for anyone but Breakker. Pearce said Theory has a qualifier tonight, and he warned Heyman to not get involved. Pearce told him to consider it a threat. Logan told Pearce, “And if we do get involved, what are you going to do about it?” He said that’s a rhetorical question. He said he’s the biggest star to ever come out of Cleveland. Breakker returned and pulled Logan away and told him to “leave it.” He told him to trust him because Pearce “is my problem now.”

-Natalya made her ring entrance. [c]

(3) NATTIE vs. MAXXINE DUPRI

The bell rang 49 minutes into the hour. Maxxine applied an anklelock seconds into the match. Nattie broke the hold and went on aggressive offense. Nattie threw Maxxine into the ringside steps, the ringpost, and the announce table. Cole said she is going back to her roots of the Stu Hart Dungeon in Calgary. The ref called for the bell as Nattie pounded on Maxxine and then put her in a Sharpshooter on the table.

WINNER: Double countout.

-Afterward, Lee made her way to the ring to her theme. Cole said Lee was there to watch her friend Maxxine. Nattie backed off. Maxxine was crying as Lee consoled her. Becky charged at Lee from behind and shoved her into the ringpost. Producer Petey Williams and several referees stepped between them. Becky backed off, but bragged about what she did.

-A vignette aired on L.A. Knight. He said he sees The Vision everywhere.

-El Grande Americanos made their entrance. [c]

(4) EL GRAND AMERICANO ORIGINAL & JE’VON EVANS vs. EL GRANDE BRAVO & EL GRANDE RAYO (w/El Grande Americano)

The bell rang 40 minutes into the hour. At 2:00 Original and Evans cleared the ring and they cut to a break. [c]

Back from the break, Evans was isolated in the corner of Bravo and Rayo. Evans eventually rallied and threw his shirt into the crowd. Americano shoved Original off the top rope. Bravo leaped off the top rope, but Evans met him with an OG Cutter off another top turnbuckle. He then leaped over the top rope onto Rayo. Original then leaped off the top rope with a diving headbutt for the win.

WINNER: Evans & Original in 8:00.

-After the match, Original tried to unmask Americano, but Americano escaped to ringside.

-Cole plugged WWE podcasts.

-Cole hyped the main event.

-A promo aired featuring soundbites from Penta, Theory, and Knight. [c]

-An Oba Femi vignette aired. He said, “If you do not adapt, you perish.”

-A clip aired of Gunther did to Rey Fenix last week.

-Byron Saxton interviewed Gunther backstage. Gunther said his path to WrestleMania should have already been cemented when he put Styles to sleep, but it starts next week instead. “But don’t worry, the results will be the same.” He said he’ll walk out of WrestleMania as the champion.

-Cole hyped Evans vs. Gunther vs. Dom and Bayley vs. Asuka vs. Nattie in the qualifiers next week. Also, Lee live next week.

[HOUR THREE]

-Penta’s ring entrance took place.

(5) PENTA EL ZERO MIEDO vs. AUSTIN THEORY (w/Paul Heyman) vs. L.A. KNIGHT – Triple Threat match to qualify for the Elimination Chamber

Theory’s entrance, alongside Heyman, was joined in progress after the break. Knight’s full ring entrance aired. The bell rang 7 minutes into the hour. Cole noted Knight eliminated Theory in the Rumble. Knight beat up Theory in the corner. Penta and Knight battled, but then worked together to clothesline Theory over the top rope to ringside. A minute later, Theory yanked Penta to the floor, then somersaulted into the ring and dropkicked Knight. Theory then threw Penta into the ringside steps. They cut to a break with Theory in control. [c]h

Back from the break, Theory gave Penta a brainbuster suplex for a two count. Graves said Pearce threatened Heyman and The Vision earlier.

Knight caught Theory mid-air on another somersault dropkick. He slammed Theory to the mat, then charged at Theory, but Theory sent him face-first into the middle turnbuckle. Knight countered with a back suplex. Both were down and slow to get up. Penta leaped off the top rope with a double crossbody onto Knight and Theory.

Theory powerbombed Knight as he superplexed Penta. Theory covered Knight and scored a two count. Theory went for a stomp, but Knight countered with a DDT. Knight popped up and landed a springboard elbowdrop. Logan and Reed charged out. Knight fended off Logan, but Reed attacked him. Reed threw Knight into the ring. He landed a Tsunami. Pearce ran out and yelled at Reed. Theory then looked at a damaged Knight and landed a stomp. Penta yanked Theory out of the ring by his boot and then superkicked Theory. Penta then charged at Theory, but Theory backdropped him onto the announce desk. The masked man showed up and superkicked Theory and stomped him and threw him into the ring. Logan charged after him and chased him through the crowd.

Theory pulled himself up to his feet, but Knight gave him a BFT for the win.

WINNER: Knight in 13:00 to qualify for the Chamber.
