[HOUR ONE]
-After the Paul Levesque-narrated “Then, Now, Forever, Together” brand stamp, they cut to scenes outside of the arena including Beale Street. Then they showed Gunther, Bayley & Lyra Valkyria, Liv Morgan, and C.M. Punk & A.J. Lee in backstage situations as Cole plugged their scheduled matches and appearances.
-The Usos were in the concourse with fans and then made their way to the ring. Paul Heyman interrupted just as they reached the lower bowl. “Cut the damn music!” Heyman said as he walked onto the stage with Logan Paul, Bronson Reed, and Austin Theory. Theory said every ounce of wisdom Heyman has is worth more than the most valuable trading card in the world. He said he just traded it for $16 million and said none of the fans will see that in their lives. They walked to ringside. Logan took a shot at Memphis. Heyman threw to a clip of the “mysterious masked man” causing a ruckus backstage leading to L.A. Knight getting a win over Austin Theory.
Theory said everyone knows it was his match to win. He singled out the Usos in the crowd. Raw G.M. Adam Pearce walked out and said they should all go back to their office and talk through this like adults. Theory said he got screwed out of his match last week. Pearce said he screwed himself. Pearce again insisted they join him in his office so they could “get this show back on the rails.”
Heyman said if he wants his show back, he wanted him to put Reed in the Chamber. Pearce said he heard Heyman was calling people above his head. He agreed to put Reed in a Chamber qualifier next week instead. Knight then interrupted Pearce and walked out. He wore a T-shirt that said, “Unchosen.” He said he’s dashing their dreams. He prayed that Reed would make it to the Chamber so he could “stuff his fat head behind those bars and kick him square in the ass.”
Logan laughed about Reed putting Knight through a car. Knight suggested to Pearce that he team him with the Usos “against those three turd stains” inside the ring. Pearce made it official and said, “It starts right now.” [c]
(1) L.A. KNIGHT & THE USOS vs. LOGAN PAUL & AUSTIN THEORY & BRONSON REED (w/Paul Heyman)
They joined the match in progress 13 minutes into the hour. Logan eventually took control against Knight and trash-talked him. He said he’s “actually the worst.” Cole said The Vision are three distinct personalities. He said while Logan has a big ego that he leans into, Theory believes his ego in the past cost him from keeping his momentum after early tastes of success. They cut to a break with Reed in control of Knight after four minutes of action aired. [c]
Knight eventually hot-tagged Jey Uso around 10 minutes in and he beat up Logan. He charged at Logan with a hip attack and then scored a two count. Jimmy speared Logan. Theory hit Jimmy from behind, stopping the ref’s count. Theory went after Knight at ringside, but Knight slipped free and gave Theory a BFT. Reed tackled Knight through the barricade into the time keeper’s area. Theory said it was “Madness in Memphis!”
Jimmy and Logan battled in the ring next. Jey eventually tagged in and they gave stereo superkicks to Logan and then a 1D. Reed broke up the cover. Reed dove through the ropes onto the Usos at ringside. He threw Jimmy into the ring. Logan punched him and then tagged in Reed who landed the Tsunami for the win.
WINNERS: Reed & Logan & Theory in roughly 14:00.
-Afterward, Logan yanked the headset off of Cole and he said they just watched The Vision work. The man in the black mask showed up and stomped on Logan. Theory and Reed went after him, and he fled through the crowd again. Heyman yelled up at him, “Come on, you bitch! Come on!”
-Graves and Coel hyped Iyo Sky vs. Kairi Sane vs. Raquel Rodriguez and Reed vs. Jey vs. Original El Grande Americano in Chamber qualifiers.
-In the back, Pearce came upon a huge crate that said, “Deliver to WWE. Do not open until 2/28/26.” The worker said he hadn’t opened it. Pearce told him to put back on the truck and send it to Smackdown for Nick Aldis to deal with. El Grande Americano with Los Americanos confronted Pearce over Original El Grande Americano getting a spot in the qualifier. El Grande asked for an Intercontinental Title match instead. Pearce said he wouldn’t give him one, but he’d give him a chance to earn one.
(Keller’s Analysis: Let the speculation begin! I’m predicting it’s a statue of Triple H to be displayed at all events.)
-A preview of the women’s qualifier match with soundbites from the competitors. [c]
(2) ASUKA vs. NATTIE vs. BAYLEY – Elimination Chamber qualifier
Asuka came out first. When Nattie came out, Graves said she’s gone back to her roots and this is who she really is and now everyone is able to meet her. Then Bayley made her way out, slapping hands on her way to the ring. Cole noted there was a lot of experience in this match. Graves said Bayley hasn’t had success this year. Graves said she’s been emotionally shattered by missing WrestleMania. The bell rang 38 minutes into the hour. At ringside, Nattie catapulted Bayley into the ringpost and they cut to a break at 2:00. [c]
Nattie interrupted a cover by Bayley on Asuka. Bayley leaped off the top rope with an elbow drop. Nattie “broke up the cover” by falling onto the back of Bayley, which in essence should have led to the ref continuing to count since the cover was still in effect and Asuka’s shoulders were down. (This was about as blatant an example as it gets of sloppy cover break-ups. Nattie didn’t break up the cover, Bayley didn’t budge from the cover, and Asuka didn’t raise her shoulder before three.) Nattie gave Bayley a German suplex on the ring apron. Asuka came behind Nattie and applied an Asuka Lock. Nattie countered with a leverage two count. Nattie gave Asuka a sitout powerbomb for a two count at 9:00. Nattie applied a sharpshooter. Bayley broke it up with a running knee to the side of Nattie’s head. Asuka used a hip attack to knock Nattie off the ring apron. Bayley landed a Bayley-to-Belly for a two count.
Asuka caught Bayley with an Asuka lock seconds later after Bayley knocked Nattie off the ring apron. Bayley tapped out.
WINNER: Asuka in 11:00.
-As Nattie returned to the stage, Maxxine Dupri attacked her. Referees pulled then apart. Fans chanted “Whoop that Trick!”
-Pearce showed Oba Femi his contract offer. He assured him his offer is better than Aldis’s. Rusev walked up to Femi. Rusev smiled at first, then it turned into a stern stare.
-Graves hyped WWE Backlash on May 9, with tickets going sale later this week. Cole plugged his interview with Liv Morgan that he recorded earlier in the week. [c]
-Graves got in more plugs.
-The sitdown interview Cole conducted with Liv aired. Cole asked Liv who she was going to pick to wrestle at WrestleMania. Dominik Mysterio walked in and sat next to her. Cole said he wasn’t invited. Liv said she has decided that she’s not going to rush the decision. “I’m having so fun [sic] watching everyone scramble trying to figure out who I’m going to pick,” she said. She said she didn’t grind for ten years to let this moment pass her by. In walked Stephanie Vaquer. She sat across from Liv and spoke in Spanish. Dom spoke back in Spanish. Dom whispered translations to Liv. Vaquer stood up and left. Liv started to cry.
C.M. Punk made his entrance.
[HOUR TWO]
[c]
-Punk was in the ring as his music faded. Cole hyped his match on Feb. 28 against Finn Balor. Fans chanted “C.M. Punk!” after his music stopped. He said Balor earned his title shot “and earned the ass kicking I’m about to give him.” He said Balor ruined the last chance he would have to share the ring with A.J. Styles. He said taking the match against Balor has made the office angry “by putting the Wrestlemania main event in jeopardy.” He said who would he be if he didn’t say or do things that piss people off. He said the fans would like him less if he wasn’t like that. He was interrupted by Balor’s music.
Balor walked out. He was flanked by J.D. McDonaugh and Dominik. Balor said to be the best in the world, you have to train with the best catch wrestler in Europe, learn from the best luchadors, survive the toughest dojos in Japan, and show up your first night on Raw and beat Roman Reigns. He said he’s the real best in the world. Another “C.M. Punk” chant started.
Punk called Dom and J.D. “idiots.” He said he knows who Balor once was, back when he did things by himself. He made fun of J.D.’s head being big. He said Dom has two titles he never defends. Fans chanted, “Bobblehead!” Punk said, “I’ll allow it.” He said he’s been accused of being a smart man who does dumb things. He turned his back and offered to let J.D. and Dom attack him from behind, but they’d risk ruining Balor’s title match and the WrestleMania main event. He said he doesn’t have to prove anything, but maybe they do. He threw the mic at Balor. Punk’s music played.
-Cole and Graves commented on clips of last Friday’s women’s tag match on Smackdown.
-Backstage, Byron Saxton interviewed Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley. They talked about their challenge of defending tag titles and seeking singles gold. Kairi Sane and Asuka walked up to them. Kairi said Asuka is in the Chamber, so it’s over for them. Asuka then yelled and said they’re not ready fro her. Kairi was shaken up after Asuka left.
-El Grande Americano, with Rayo and Bravo, made his ring entrance. Cole said they still don’t know who his opponent is. [c]
-Cole got in more plugs. He said El Grande Americano is a new playable wrestler in the WWE videogame.
(3) EL GRANDE AMERICANO (w/Rayo, Bravo) vs. PENTA
Penta made his entrance. Graves said he spoke to Penta earlier. He said Penta believes lucha libre saved his life after he was starving on the street. He said when he put on his first mask, he felt like a superhero with zero fear. The bell rang 24 minutes into the hour. They cut to an early break. [c]
Back from the break, the Original El Grande distracted El Grande, giving Penta an opening to land a springboard Mexican Destroyer for the win.
WINNER: Penta in 9:00.
(Keller’s Analysis: A bummer it didn’t last longer. Graves’ commentary discussing Penta helped add layers to his character.)
-Original backdropped El Grande after the match and delivered a rolling German suplex. He yelled. Graves said the imposter reminds him of somebody. Original yanked on El Grande’s mask, but Rayo and Bravo intervened. Original danced.
-Backstage, Dom and Liv were cuddling. Raquel asked Liv to “touch some grass” and assured her it’d be good for her. J.D. told Balor it was hard for him to watch him get humiliated in Ireland. Balor said he has to prove to himself he can do it himself. J.D. said he’s trying to help him become World Champion. Balor said the best way to help is to let him prove it alone. Dom said he still has a match.
-They showed Gunther tying his boots backstage. [c]
-A.J. Lee made her entrance. She said she had fun getting under Becky’s skin last week. She noted she hasn’t had a singles match in years. She said she isn’t modest because she knows who she is. She said there was a woman’s division before her and there was one after, “and that was my gift to all of you; you’re welcome.” (Huh?) She said she still wants to get hands on everyone one of the current members of the division. She listed many names, then lamented that for now, all roads lead back to Becky. She said she’s not sure why Becky is angry at her, but perhaps it’s because her merch sells better or the fans like her more. She said she gave Becky a ten year head start and she hasn’t caught up. She said she has a chance to show she can still be a champion. She said if she walks out of Chicago victorious, she’ll walk into WrestleMania as Intercontinental Champion. She invited Becky to the ring, calling her “Becky Boo Boo.”
Becky came out. She asked if Lee really believed this was a chance to have a title run. She said instead, it’s a chance to gather friends and family, “anyone dumb enough to like you,” to watch her have a retirement match she never had and never deserved and let them cry tears as they watch her lose. She said there was a division before her and after he “and your gift was leaving.” She said Lee was making comic books while she was winning titles. She predicted she’ll leave her in a full body cast.
Lee challenged Becky to enter the ring to “throw hands” now. She called her Becky Boo Boo. Becky paused at ringside and asked if she thinks she’s stupid. She said she knows she’ll sucker punch her. Lee told her she’d let her take the first swing. Becky entered. Lee dared her to swing at her. She put her hands behind her back. Becky said she knows the game she’s playing. She said she wants her to beat her so she has an excuse when she loses to her at Elimination Chamber. “Nah,” said Becky before leaving the ring. “I don’t fight in Memphis,” she said before throwing down the mic.
Cole said Lee is in Becky’s head big-time.
(Keller’s Analysis: I understand more than ever after that promo how Punk and Lee ended up together.)
-Pearce was shown backstage talking to a security guy when he saw The Vision. Theory got in Pearce’s face and took issue with the mystery man. Logan held Theory back and took him out of the arena. Heyman got in Pearce’s face. Pearce told Heyman the masked man is as much of a problem for him as it is for Heyman. Reed told Pearce that he solves The Vision’s problems, and when he catches the masked man, the problem will be solved. He said when he wins the Chamber, another problem will be solved.
-They showed Je’Von Evans warming up backstage. [c]
-Graves hyped the matches scheduled for Raw.
-A video package aired on the main event with soundbites from each of the participants.
-Je’Von made his entrance. They aired a clip of Je’Von’s OG Cutter last week against Bravo. Gunther made his entrance next.
[HOUR THREE]
[c]
(4) DOMINIK MYSTERIO vs. JE’VON EVANS vs. GUNTHER – Elimination Chamber qualifier
Dom’s entrance then aired. The bell rang 5 minutes into the hour. Cole noted this was Dom’s first match in months since his shoulder injury. Gunther knocked Je’Vo out of mid-air and then threw Dom into the ringside barricade twice at 2:30. Graves said it’s never personal with Gunther, he’s just good. Je’Von leaped over the top rope onto Gunther at ringside. “Just look on in awe,” said Cole as they cut to a break at 3:00. [c]
Back from the break, Dom had Je’Von grounded. They showed Dom had taken the ring bell hammer and placed it on the ringside steps. Gunther caught Dom in a sleeper. Je’Von kickd Gunther and then went at Dom. Gunther recovered and powerbombed Dom onto Je’Von. He tried to powerbomb Je’Von, but Je’Von countered into a roll-up. Gunther landed a lariat and then delivered a vicious powerbomb for a two count. (Je’Von’s head hit the mat uncomfortably hard. They replayed it.) Fans chanted, “This is awesome!” Graves said, “This is just another day at the office for Gunther.”
Gunther chopped Dom. Cole said, “It’s almost as if he’s having fun.” Gunther raised his arms and walked around the ring. He and Je’Von exchanged strikes. Je’Von kicked Dom. Gunther smacked Je’Von across his back. Je’Von landed on his feet on a German suplex attempt and landed a high knee. Dom broke up Je’Von’s cover by shoving Je’Von off of Gunther. Evans springboarded onto Gunther and then climbed to the top rope. Gunther caught him up there. Je’Von elbowed him and then leaped off the top rope. Gunther avoided him and put him in a sleeper. Je’Von escaped. Gunther caught him in a sleeper as a counter to an OG Cutter. Dom leaped off the top rope with a frog splash onto Gunther to break the sleeper. Dom then knocked Gunther into position for a 619. Gunther got up and clotheslined Dom.
When Gunther went after Dom at ringside, Gunther threatened him with the hammer. Dragon Lee hit Gunther with the ring bell. Dom returned to the ring, but Je’Von avoided his frog splash. J’Von hit Dom with an OG Cutter for the win. Cole noted that Randy Orton, L.A. Knight, and Cody Rhodes had also qualified with two more to come.
WINNER: Je’Von in 15:00.
(Keller’s Analysis: The crowd popped big for Je’Von’s win, likely not expecting it at all.)
