SEPTEMBER 7, 2026
BIRMINGHAM, ALA. AT LEGACY ARENA
STREAMED LIVE ON NETFLIX
REPORT BY ROBERT TOMACHICK, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR
Commentators: Joe Tessitore, Wade Barrett
Ring Announcer: Alicia Taylor
[HOUR ONE]
-Monday Night Raw opened with drone footage of Legacy Arena. A Cadillac pulled up to the arena and dropped off The Usos, who had metal pipes in their hands. Joe Tessitore ran down the card for the night as Liv, Dom, and Stephanie Vaquer walked into the arena.
-Highlights aired from Oba versus Bron at the previous night’s PLE, Sunday Night’s Main Event.
-Bron Breakker’s music played as he and The Vision came to the ring. Breakker told the crowd that The Vision was now complete as the fans chanted for Oba. Breakker mentioned that Oba had not been medically cleared following their match the previous night. Bron gave credit to Bronson Reed for helping him put Oba down. Reed praised what they had done to Oba before Logan grabbed the microphone. Paul called The Vision unstoppable. Maxxine was next to speak, but she was interrupted by Tozawa. Tozawa told Theory that he would be competing, but not against him. Instead, Theory would be facing Otis.
(1) OTIS (w/Akira Tozawa) vs. AUSTIN THEORY
Otis didn’t waste a second after the bell rang. Looking more aggressive than usual, Otis used his power to pounce on Theory. Theory gained the upper hand with a cheap shot and began working Otis over. Otis used his massive hands to knock Theory around, forcing him to escape to the outside of the ring. Otis followed and knocked him down right in front of Maxxine. [c]
Theory remained in control until Otis’s power became too much for him. Otis had Theory down and went for the Caterpillar, but Bronson Reed interfered. The Vision proceeded to beat down Alpha Academy. Theory held Otis in place as Bron ran the ropes and hit him with a Spear. As The Vision continued its attack on Tozawa, Oba was shown walking through the backstage area. A WWE official walked beside him and told him that he had not been medically cleared. Femi ran to the ring and took out The Vision. He was successful until the numbers game caught up with him. A couple of Tsunamis and Spears left Femi laid out in the ring as The Vision stood tall.
WINNER: Otis via DQ in 7:00.
(Robert’s Recap: The match was nothing special, but it was nice to see Otis return. This feud had been on the back burner for a few weeks, and honestly, I forgot we were still doing this. A sympathetic love story angle just didn’t cut it for me unless it was on the same level as Dominik and Rhea’s. The beatdown after the match was the real show. Bron mentioning that Oba wasn’t medically cleared had me thinking Alpha Academy was all by itself. The Vision left the ring looking like a faction second only to The Bloodline. It was a great way to reestablish its dominance.)
-A vignette for Royce Keys and OTM aired. Keys mentioned that nobody in WWE was safe from them.
-The Usos met up with Jacob backstage. Fatu asked what they were doing, and The Usos responded by saying they were going to the ring to call out Royce Keys. Fatu told them they needed to rethink their strategy because Royce and OTM were unlike anything they had encountered. They decided to lie low, take things slowly, and regroup before calling their next play. [c]
-Tessitore promoted Triplemanía 34, which was scheduled for that weekend.
-Becky met with Stephanie Vaquer in the locker room. Becky offered to help Vaquer, but she refused. Stephanie said she would not ask for help because she always ended up being betrayed.
-Jackie Redmond interviewed local comedian Matt Matthews. The interview was interrupted by The Miz and Kit Wilson. Miz was upset that Matthews was receiving television time instead of him. Matthews told Miz that he thought he had retired. Miz took exception to the comment and dragged Matthews over the barricade and into the ring. Kit Wilson tried to attack Matthews, but Matt took him down with a headscissors before eating a Skull-Crushing Finale from The Miz.
-Bron Breakker made his way to the ring for the Money in the Bank qualifying match. [c]
-Tessitore promoted the third season of WWE: Unreal.
(2) BRON BREAKKER vs. ETHAN PAGE vs. REY MYSTERIO – Money in the Bank qualifier
The match started with Breakker throwing bodies around the ring. Mysterio slowed Breakker down by jumping on his back while Page threw punches at him. It didn’t last long, as Breakker quickly regained control of the match. Mysterio and Page worked together to try to take Bron out, but it was Rey who managed to stop Bron’s momentum. With Bron outside the ring, Page and Mysterio battled each other as they tried to take advantage of his absence. As Rey went for a 619, Breakker caught his legs and threw him onto the barricade. While Breakker celebrated his beatdown of Page, Mysterio took the opportunity to hit a West Coast Pop. [c]
Mysterio and Page battled in the middle of the ring with Breakker on the outside. Page gained momentum and even attempted to pin Rey. Page threw Rey into Bron as Breakker tried to get back into the ring. Bron eventually made his way inside and immediately took charge. Bron then ran around the outside of the ring, but Page and Rey moved out of the way, causing Breakker to crash into the steel steps. With Breakker down, Rey hit Page with a flurry of moves and attempted a pin, but Page kicked out at two. Mysterio hit the 619, but Breakker stopped Rey from climbing to the top rope. Breakker hit a double Frankensteiner before delivering a massive Spear to Rey for the win.
WINNER: Breakker in 12:00.
(Robert’s Recap: The match’s outcome was fairly predictable, although putting Rey in a ladder match never sounded like a bad idea. The flow of the match was excellent, and the commercial break didn’t ruin it. I enjoyed watching Page work with Rey to take out Bron, only to turn around and fight Rey. It put Bron over as a monster without him even having to throw a punch. Whoever produced this match understood the psychology of wrestling.)
-A preview of the Mr. T documentary aired.
-Knight spoke to Pearce about getting a match against the winner of the match between Penta and Roman. Solo entered and told Knight that they needed to go after Royce and OTM immediately. Knight refused and wanted to focus on Roman. Solo didn’t want to wait and tried to explain to LA how dangerous Royce was. Sikoa asked Knight whether he had his back. Knight said he did, but they needed to pick their spots. Solo said he wasn’t sure how long he could wait. [c]

[HOUR TWO]
-A video message from Penta to Roman aired.
-Highlights from Sol Ruca versus Raquel Rodriguez aired.
-Sol made her entrance for the Women’s Money in the Bank qualifying match. [c]
-A vignette for Lola Vice aired.
(3) SOL RUCA vs. LYRA VALKYRIA vs. MAXXINE DUPRI
The match started at a rapid pace as all three women showed off their speed. Ruca was sent out of the ring, leaving only Lyra and Maxxine inside. Ruca reentered with a senton as Lyra and Maxxine bridged up. Lyra swept Sol’s feet as she climbed the ropes. Lyra warned Sol to stay away from her as she worked her over in the ring. Dupri returned to the ring to take on Ruca, but Lyra took advantage. [c]
Dupri hit Lyra with a crossbody, but Sol springboarded into the ring and knocked them both down. With complete control of the match, Ruca delivered a missile dropkick to both women. Sol attempted a pin, but Lyra pushed her into the turnbuckle. Ruca used Lyra as a step to deliver a dropkick to Dupri before hitting Lyra with a shoulder breaker. Lyra hit the Nightwing on Dupri and would have won the match, but Bayley pulled the referee out of the ring. While Lyra was distracted, Sol hit Valkyria with the Sol Snatcher for the win. After the match, Bayley beat down Lyra and even tried to put her through the announcers’ table.
WINNER: Ruca in 12:00.
(Robert’s Recap: It was good to see Maxxine get some in-ring time. You could tell during the match that she still needed more reps, but she had come so far from where she began. Heel Lyra was exactly what her character needed. Valkyria was a great in-ring worker, but the fans were not connecting with her babyface gimmick. With Bayley back, Lyra found herself in a meaningful feud. Sol continued her rise on the main roster and appeared to be a perfect fit for the Money in the Bank ladder match.)
-Joe promoted several upcoming events.
-OTM posted a video from outside the arena calling out The Bloodline. The Usos saw the video and were ready to pounce. Fatu reasoned with them, explaining that it was all part of Royce’s plan. Jacob told The Usos that they had to trust him when it came to Royce and OTM. Jey told Jacob that he trusted him.
-Joe Hendry put together a music video package poking fun at JD McDonagh’s massive head.
-JD came to the ring with Dominik to face Joe Hendry. [c]
(4) JOE HENDRY vs. JD MCDONAGH
Both men locked up, but JD attacked Joe’s knee to bring him to the ground. They exchanged chops in the middle of the ring before JD took Joe down again. JD appeared to be wrestling with extra aggression following the music video. Hendry finally mounted some offense after JD wasted time yelling at the crowd. A big headbutt from McDonagh left both men on the mat. Je’Von came to ringside wearing the oversized Funko Pop head from the music video. Dominik went to confront Evans but ate several headbutts. JD missed a moonsault and was hit with the Standing Ovation for the pin.
WINNER: Hendry in 4:00.
(Robert’s Recap: This segment and match were clearly for the kids, and that was all I had to say about them.)
-A promotional video for Zuffa Boxing aired.
-Highlights dating back to WrestleMania caught fans up on the feud between Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer.
-Becky Lynch was walking backstage when she ran into Liv. Liv asked whether she was leaving the arena to take care of her child. Morgan called her selfish and told her that nobody liked her. Looking frustrated, Becky walked away.
-Stephanie Vaquer made her entrance to the ring. [c]
-The Vision approached Paul Heyman, who looked impressed with Bronson Reed. He hugged Reed and told him how proud he was of him. Breakker told Heyman that Oba was finished and the future of WWE had been secured. Paul asked Bron whether Femi was still breathing, alluding to the fact that Oba would return for revenge.
(5) LIV MORGAN vs. STEPHANIE VAQUER – Women’s World Championship match
Alicia Taylor introduced both competitors. Liv dodged Stephanie and rolled out of the ring. When they returned to the ring, Stephanie took control and rolled Liv up for a sneaky pin attempt. Vaquer then landed a crossbody from the apron to the floor. [c]
Back from the commercial break, Liv had Vaquer trapped in a suffocating chokehold. A shotgun dropkick from Liv led to a pin attempt, but Vaquer kicked out at two. Barrett mentioned that WWE would be visiting Chile, Stephanie Vaquer’s home country, as part of its South American tour. Liv hit the Three Amigos before unloading on Vaquer with several punches. Vaquer regained control with a suplex. Stephanie then hit Liv with the Devil’s Kiss in the middle of the ring. She followed it with a meteora and attempted a pin, but Liv kicked out at two. [pip]
The referee checked on Liv, giving her time to regain her composure. Both women battled on the edge of the apron before Vaquer cleared off the announcers’ table. That gave Morgan an opportunity to regain control as she bashed Vaquer’s head against the table. Liv spent too much time taunting the crowd and ended up receiving the Devil’s Kiss on the announce table.
[OVERRUN]
After Liv rolled back into the ring, a crossbody from Vaquer led to another two-count. Morgan hit a powerbomb as Vaquer tried to climb to the top rope. Both women traded punches in the middle of the ring. Liv caught Vaquer with a crucifix pin for a two-count and noticeably favored her left arm afterward. An SVP from Vaquer resulted in a very close two-count. A missed meteora from Vaquer led to a failed Oblivion attempt from Liv. Vaquer landed the Angel Wings, but The Judgment Day came out as she climbed to the top rope. Raquel was ejected from ringside, causing Becky Lynch to come out. Roxanne handed Liv the championship belt before Becky chased her away. Liv hit Stephanie with the belt and pinned her for the win.
WINNER: Morgan in 18:00 to retain the Women’s Title.
(Robert’s Recap: Tessitore said it best: It was only a matter of time before The Judgment Day came down and got involved. The match was excellent and showed why these were two of the best women in the entire industry. The interference was predictable and somewhat annoying, but it was needed to extend the storyline.)
-A vignette for Big Cass aired.
-Barrett and Tessitore promoted the card for the following week’s Monday Night Raw from Mexico City.
-The Usos grew tired of Fatu’s wait-and-see strategy and decided to go to the ring to call out Keys and OTM. [c]
-Fatu and The Usos stood in the middle of the ring with weapons in their hands. Jey told Keys to come to the ring. Royce Keys appeared in a video from outside the arena and said this was the play he had called. OTM began destroying The Usos’ car with weapons before pouring gasoline over it. Keys grabbed a Zippo and set the car on fire. The credits began to roll as The Bloodline argued in the ring.
FINAL THOUGHTS: It was a substandard episode of Raw that was highlighted by the Women’s Championship match. The Bloodline story continued to heat up, and it seemed as though WWE planned to take its time and let it cook. The returns of crowd favorites Otis and Bayley brought some life to the roster. With The Vision back at full strength, the group should have continued to display its dominance, but I hoped it would start targeting more credible opponents. Beating up Alpha Academy week after week wasn’t going to establish the group as vicious heels. The following week’s show in Mexico City should have featured a hyped-up crowd and created a PLE-like atmosphere.)
