-They opened with an old time movie video introduction for “Danhausen’s Veryn Nice, Very Evil Smackdown.” They went to his lab where he introduced the show and listed the scheduled match. He called Nikki Bella an “evil clone.” He called Sami “Samuel.” He said they’d reveal his first evil experiment tonight, also. He pointed at a bed with a sheet over it.
-They went to an aerial shot of the capitol of Charleston, S.C. Then they showed Sami arriving and hugging Johnny Gargano. He hugged Candice LeRae who smiled when he looked at her, but quickly dropped the smile and rolled her eyes when he turned around. They also showed Trick Williams, Chelsea Green, and Nikki Bella. Then they cut to a wide shot the interior of the arena which Cole said was “jam-packed.”
-Cody Rhodes made his entrance. When his music stopped, fans chanted, “Cody! Cody!” He said he knew what he wanted to talk about, which was the Last Man Standing match against Randy Orton. He said it’s his first Last Man Standing match. He said it’s simple but barbaric. He explained the rules. He said he would like to apologize for something, though. He said Orton has five children and a lovely wife and fans in every arena, so he wanted to apologize for how he plans to change his complexion. he showed a photo of his own mangled face. He said he actually won that match. He said there are receipts in pro wrestling and then there’s bankrupting someone. He said he has punted heads before, all of his prior victims are loaded into his boot ready to kick his skull.
He said the Last Man Standing will likely be the no. 1 contender and it will be him.
(Keller’s Analysis: Good, sraight-forward babyface promo that laid out the rules of the match and Cody’s determination. The only thing worth adding would have been incorporating the story of Orton not thinking Cody can cross a certain line and Cody saying he’s fully ready to do so. It was implied with his intensity, but I’d have included that since it’s been the central theme of Orton’s promos.)
-Cole and Graves reacted to Cody, then shifted to a recap of what happened on Raw with Liv Morgan, Chelsea Green, Tiffany Stratton, and others.
-Cathy Kelley interviewed Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton backstage. Tiffany said the only reason Liv still has a title is because The Judgment Day keeps interfering, but she will eventually cash in and become World Champion whenever she finds Liv on her own. Green said they will officially be the most iconic duo in WWE history after Crown Jewel. Green dressed up as Nikki. Kelley asked about it. Green said she’s “dresses as a monster.” After Green walked away, Danhausen startled Tiffany. He offered to trade a small jar of human teeth for her MITB briefcase.
-Nikki made her ring entrance. [c]
-They showed Zaria in the front row. Graves hyped her match against Izzi Dame on Halloween Havoc tomorrow night.
(1) CHELSEA GREEN vs. NIKKI BELLA – WWE Title match
Cole talked about how Green has been fighting for respect since she won the title. He said at first she was Interim Champion, but he said that has since been shed and she’s the full champion now. They cut to an early break with Nikki in control after landing a Bella Buster. [c]
Green made a comeback and scored a near fall with a Rough Ryder. Nikki came back and scored a near fall with a roll-up after her finisher, but their feet were tied up in the ropes. Green then quickly rolled up Nikki for the win.
WINNER: Green in 8:00 to retain the WWE Title.
-Afterward, Liv Morgan came out. She said they both had to overcome skeptics early in their careers and now they’ve risen to the top. She said, though, that while she’s a real champion, Green is a joke of a champion. She said she’d destroy her at Crown Jewel. Then Tiffany Stratton came out, since Liv was in the ring without her Judgment Day cohorts. As she made her way to the ring Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez jumped her from behind. As Liv laughed, Green gave her an Unpretty Her. Tiffany recovered and hit Raquel and Perez with the briefcase. She entered the ring. Green encouraged her to cash in. Tiffany called for a referee and then landed her Prettiest Moonsault Ever. As she was about to cash-in, Perez and Raquel jumped her. Graves said it’s Tiffany’s fault because she “took forever and a day” to decide to cash in. Iyo Sky ran out. The heel trio fled.
-Kelley interviewed Sami Zayn backstage about his title defense later. Sami said from the moment he won the WWE Title, he has “endured immeasurable disrespect.” He said after all he has endured, he’s not going to lose his title to Trick Williams. He said everything good about Trick you can buy at a store, whereas what makes him great is earned – the grit, the resilience, the survival skills. He said he’s gone out there and earned it all. He said he’s adaptable and one of the all-time greats. He said there will never be anyone like him again. He said he’ll beat Trick and then he’s going to see Roman Reigns “on the other side.”
(Keller’s Analysis: Tremendous Sami promo. Also, perhaps notable is no one is explicitly saying Crown Jewel will be in Saudi Arabia even if that, as of now, definitely remains the plan.)
-Graves commented on a clip of Blake Monroe pinning Giulia last Friday on Smackdown.
-Kelley interviewed Monroe. She said after her “definitive” win over Giulia, what’s her plan. Monroe said it’s time for her to focus on the World Title. She said Green is choking under the pressure. Paige walked in and said winning one match doesn’t make her championship material. Monroe cut in and told Paige she “is such a huge a fan, or I was a decade ago.” Monroe told her not to stick her nose where it doesn’t belong. Paige told her to watch her mouth.
(2) REY FENIX vs. RICKY SAINTS – AAA Cruiserweight Title match
They cut to the ring where Saints was standing, having already made his entrance.
