WWE announced Monday the latest executive hiring from the world of professional sports.

John Brody will take the position of Executive VP of Global Sales & Partnerships, reporting directly to chief marketing executive Michelle Wilson.

The revolving door at this position recently saw sports executive Michael Pine last eight months from April 2013 to November 2013.

WWE is going back to the sports world for Brody, whose background includes NFL’s senior VP for sponsorships and media sales and a similar position for 12 years with Major League Baseball.

Brody has been tasked with growing WWE’s brand to drive ad revenue, making him “responsible for providing strategic vision for WWE’s sales operation on a global basis while expanding WWE’s media partnerships.”

“John is a recognized leader within the sports and entertainment marketplace, and I am thrilled to have him join WWE,” said Wilson in a press release. “Given the global opportunities for partners to engage with our massive fanbase across TV, digital, and social platforms, I’m confident that John will be successful in growing this line of our business.”
