SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

WWE Diva Paige says she is currently off TV recovering from a concussion. Paige described it as a “slight concussion” following a “bad bump,” but WWE is being cautious before she returns to the ring.

“I’m like, ‘I’m fine, I promise.’ They’re like, ‘No, we have to make sure you are 100 percent.’ They are like parents,” Paige told Scott Fishman of Channel Guide Magazine.

Paige said she has been spending time at the Performance Center in Florida while recovering and waiting to be cleared. She has also taken a step back to evaluate the current Divas storylines, which she was somewhat caught in the middle of when WWE turned Charlotte heel and focused on Becky Lynch.

“With the girls you can’t really tell who was the bad guy or good guy,” Paige said. “From the WWE standpoint you have to give people a chance to get to know you first and then they start giving you more with characters and storylines. People didn’t know the new girls coming in.”

As for her mom, independent wrestler Saraya Knight, potentially being involved in the Charlotte/Ric Flair storyline, Paige said “you can’t force it,” but it would be “a dream” for her to work with Saraya on WWE TV.

As for the new season of Total Divas premiering January 19 on E!, Paige said they “just did a bit more filming” and are trying to present a better show.

“This one is my favorite season by far. I know everyone says that because they are going to get you to watch their show, but honestly this is one of my favorite seasons.”
