SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Injured top WWE star John Cena said on YES Network’s “CentreStage” show that he is ready to wrestle again, he wanted to wrestle at WrestleMania 32, and he anticipates taking back his top spot when he returns from injury.

“I feel great. It’s like your starting ace sitting in the bullpen knowing that it’s his day in the rotation saying, ‘I want to throw.’ But, it’s the coach’s job to field the best team,” Cena told host Michael Kay.

“So, I’ve always had faith in my boss (Vince McMahon) and his vision and his perspective of WWE. If it’s someone else’s time, and my time is not now, then I’ll just wait for it to be my time.”

Regarding Shane McMahon at WM32, Cena interestingly said he is pulling for Shane to beat The Undertaker, hinting at a potential storyline situation.

“I see a lot of Vince’s traits in Shane. I see that energy; I certainly see that passion. Vince’s experience is just different than anyone else’s. Shane is a wonderful dude; I’m so very happy to see him back… Vince is irreplaceable.”

– Cena also stressed the WrestleMania brand as the main draw for each year’s Mania. “When you come to WrestleMania, you get this huge, crazy experience. It really is the best of what we do.

“It always gets bigger. The event and the perception of the event gets bigger (each year). It’s grown through the 32 years its been in existence. It truly is a brand that when we announce the city, and we start selling tickets in November, we sell out before there is a single name attached to the name ‘WrestleMania.’ People know that the name means it’s going to be a great experience.”
