SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

If you watched any Baylor or Big 12 college football over the last few years, the giant 410-pound LaQuan McGowan has stood out as a potential big-man wrestler.

McGowan hopes to be drafted by an NFL team later this month. But, he told sports outlet SB Nation that he recognizes he might have a short career because he does not have a natural position. So, he’s already thinking about pro wrestling as his next step.

“I feel like once that’s over with, the WWE is calling my name,” McGowan said. “I’ve watched it on TV. I’ve thought about, ‘What would be something good or something that I would enjoy doing for a decent, for a long period of time?’ For big guys in the NFL, they really don’t last that long.”

McGowan already has ties to WWE legend Mark Henry after famously breaking Henry’s Texas powerlifting records in high school. McGowan has also been in talks with former WWE executive Jim Ross thanks to their Big 12 connection through Oklahoma Sooners.
