After the Main Event taping, WWE taped this week’s Smackdown…

Smackdown SPOILERS 4/21

– Miz TV started the show. Miz asked guest A.J. Styles if he had anything to do with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows attacking WWE champ Roman Reigns on Raw. A.J. denied it again. The segment ended with A.J. attacking Miz.

– Sami Zayn & Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho was announced as the main event.

(1) Ryback beat U.S. champion Kalisto in a non-title WM32 re-match. Ryback held up the U.S. Title afterwards, looking like the match will take place at Payback.

(2) Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler never started. Corbin attacked Ziggler on the way to the ring.

(2) A.J. Styles beat IC champion The Miz in a non-title match. Styles won with the Phenomenal Forearm. Towards the end of the match, Miz wanted to walk out, but Anderson & Gallows came out to stop him. No physicality, though.

– Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose were interviewed about tonight’s main event.

– Just for the live audience: Miz was still in the ring complaining about Anderson & Gallows. Shane McMahon then came out to the biggest pop of the night for his advertised appearance (replacing The Undertaker). They had a entertaining back and forth, which ended with Shane beating up Miz.

– Backstage, Anderson & Gallows announced they would be making their in-ring debut on Raw vs. The Usos.

(3) R-Truth beat Fandango with Goldust as special referee. They spent most of this ‘match’ dancing for Goldust. Truth won by hitting his finisher.

– Enzo Amore & Big Cass came out. Enzo did their entrance, then The Vaudevillians came out. This led to a verbal back-and-forth to set up their #1 contender tournament finals match at Payback.

(4) Paige & Natalya beat Naomi & Tamina via submission. Paige made Naomi tap out to the PTO. Nattie had Tamina in the Sharpshooter at the same time.

(5) Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens beat Dean Ambrose & Sami Zayn in the main event when Owens pinned Ambrose. For the finish, Ambrose was going for a top-rope manuever when Jericho pushed him off. Dean got his legs caught in the ropes and fell to the mat, then Owens pinned him.
