Payback Injury Update – Enzo Amore concussed, out of hospital

UPDATE: WWE said the diagnosis is Enzo Amore suffered a concussion when he took a hard blow during the opening match at Payback.

WWE later released a photo of Enzo out of the hospital wearing a hospital gown.

Enzo Amore appeared to suffer a neck injury in the opening match of WWE’s Payback PPV.

Enzo and Big Cass were facing The Vaudevillians in the finals of the #1 contender tournament to the Tag Titles.

In the opening minutes, Simon Gotch tossed Enzo toward the ropes trying to throw him to the floor. However, Enzo crashed hard into the ropes, sending Enzo reeling to the floor.

Enzo sold lifelessness on the floor as Gotch came over to pick him up. However, the referee intervened to check on Enzo. Referee Rudy Charles threw up the “X” signal and medical personnel checked on Enzo.

The bell sounded to signal the end of the match while a stretcher was brought out to take Enzo away from ringside.

Off-camera, Enzo was fitted for a neckbrace and given oxygen. Enzo was able to move his arms and legs, according to the announcers, and was able to communicate with medics.
