WWE News Hits – Week of May 16

WWE Smackdown is moving timeslots on Sky Sports in the U.K. market. Beginning May 26, Smackdown will air on Thursday nights at 10:00 p.m., upgrading from Friday night timeslot. Smackdown will now air in the U.K. region before the U.S. broadcast on USA Network.

WWE filed a Conflict Minerals Report with the SEC on Tuesday noting the origin of some material used in foam fingers and light-up necklaces sold. WWE concluded that some material used in the products originated in South America and other material was sourced in China or Indonesia.

– MONDAY: Jim Ross’s latest blog at jrsbarbq.com covers the final build to Extreme Rules on Monday’s Raw, the next set of New Japan/AXS TV episodes, and other WWE topics.

– Over at Shane McMahon’s day job, the You On Demand company reported First Quarter 2016 financials. Shane McMahon was not announced for a quarterly conference call with investors scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EST Monday evening, a few hours before Raw.

– WWE has revealed the host of their forthcoming “Our Nation’s Pride: The Best of Canadian Superstars” DVD. Kyle Edwards (Arda Ocal), who was recently released from the company, is hosting the home video. The DVD is an exclusive release in Canada next week. (WrestlingDVDNetwork.com)
