New WWE Studios movie – current WWE champion & more stars part of filming next week

WWE Studios has booked the fifth installment of “The Marine” movie series, reports Deadline.com.

“Marine 5: Battleground” will feature current Intercontinental champion The Miz, his wife Maryse, current women’s wrestler Naomi, and the Social Outcasts stable of Heath Slater, Bo Dallas, and Curtis Axel.

Filming is scheduled to begin this Tuesday, May 31 in Vancouver, Canada.

It will be interesting to see how WWE handles Miz’s title status, especially on the next Raw episode (May 30). Miz successfully defended the Intercontinental Title against Cesaro on this week’s Smackdown and he lost a Money in the Bank qualifying match for the next WWE PPV.

As for “Marine 5,” WWE Studios is teaming with Sony Pictures for the latest installment of the franchise.

Miz is returning to his role as “Jake Carter,” an ex-Marine who served in the Middle East and is now saving lives as an EMT.

In this installment, Miz/Carter “finds himself protecting an injured man from a ruthless biker gang and utilizes his unique skills to stop the bikers’s rampage.”
