SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

WWE financial executive George Barrios gave a detailed presentation on WWE’s current and future business at the Needham Emerging Technology Conference last Thursday, May 19 in New York City.

During the Q&A portion of the presentation, Barrios was asked if WWE is interested in buying UFC, which is rumored to be for sale.

Barrios quickly said WWE “does not talk about acquisitions,” trying to move on from the question.

Asked by Needham host Laura Martin if WWE has heard what UFC is valued at, Barrios said they’re not paying much attention. Martin relayed industry talk that UFC is valued at $4.0 billion if sold.

Martin asked if that’s true, it certainly amplifies the value of content for everyone, including WWE, making it an interesting marker for what content is valued at in today’s shifting landscape.

Barrios let Martin talk about the subject without addressing UFC any further before they moved on to other questions.
