WWE Studios has formed a big movie deal with Sony Pictures Animation for a new animated movie due out in 2017.

The two companies are working on “Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania” featuring top WWE characters as surfing penguins.

The family-driven animated movie features The Undertaker, Triple H, John Cena, Mr. McMahon, and Paige as animated penguins on a new adventure led by the character Cody Maverick.

“We are thrilled to be working with Sony Pictures Animation to bring Cody Maverick back to audiences for more adventures, paired with our WWE Superstars in what promises to be a fun animated film for the entire family,” said WWE Studios president Michael Luisi.

WWE Studios and Sony Animation are co-financing and co-producing the movie. Both will market the movie when released in 2017, marking the ten-year anniversary of the original movie.
