Nearly 20 years after WWF Raw sunk to an historically low TV rating, WWE is following the same playbook.
Vince McMahon is returning to TV this Monday on Raw to “evaluate” the jobs of Shane and Stephanie McMahon running Raw. WWE is also teasing a development on the Smackdown GM role one week before a new era begins.
Last week’s Fourth of July holiday Raw fell to the Bottom 3 of lowest-rated shows in the show’s history. The last time Raw was in the 1.8-range in Fall 1996, Vince McMahon returned to TV when he was merely an announcer to give the show a “bigger feel.”
