WWE set up a big title match for Summerslam on the first Raw of the “New Era” following the WWE Draft.

NXT star Finn Balor made his WWE TV debut with two major victories to face Seth Rollins for the newly-created WWE Universal Title that will be exclusive to Raw.

Balor won a fatal four-way match in the opening match of Raw, then beat Roman Reigns in the TV main event to get the title shot against Rollins, who was given a “bye” to Summerslam.

Balor vs. Rollins is a fresh match-up deviating from the expected Reigns vs. Rollins re-match to play up their Shield feud. Now, Reigns has to find an opponent for Summerslam.

During the Raw broadcast, Rollins was not shown watching the main event to find out who his opponent would be at Summerslam. WWE’s social media team released the behind-the-scenes footage on Twitter.

Updated Summerslam PPV Line-up

  • Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton
  • WWE World Title match: Dean Ambrose vs. ???
  • WWE Universal Title match: Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor
