This was NXT’s inaugural trip to New Orleans. The venue was approximately 80 percent of capacity, as the top level of seats intentionally weren’t sold for the show. Floor level seats were sold out. The crowd was fairly energetic, full of 20-and-30-somethings. Andrea D’Marco was the emcee and ring announcer for the evening.

(1) No Way Jose beat Riddick Moss via pinfall with the Cobra Clutch Slam.

(2) Ember Moon (Athena) beat Daria Berenato via pinfall with a diving corkscrew stunner.

(3) Oney Lorcan (Biff Busick) beat Buddy Murphy via submission with a headlock.

(4) NXT Women’s champion Asuka beat Billie Kay via pinfall with a roundhouse kick to retain the championship.

[Intermission]

(5) NXT tag champions The Revival (Dash & Dawson) beat Johnny Gargano and Tommasso Ciampa via pinfall with a schoolboy and handful of Ciampa’s tights to retain the championship. Match of the night. Though I know better, there were several nearfalls that had me thinking we may see a title change.

(6) Austin Aries beat Mojo Rawley via submission to the Last Chancery.

(7) Andrade “Cien” Almas & Shinsuke Nakamura beat Bobby Roode & NXT champion Samoa Joe via pinfall. Nakamura won with the Kinshasa to Roode.

  1. The Revival tag team match may have been a match of the year candidate if it were televised. Unbelievable performance from both teams. Standing ovation after the match.
