WWE “Live in London” Results
September 7, 2016
London, England
Report by Martin Turner, PWTorch reader

(1) WWE tag champions New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E.) beat The Club (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) to retain the WWE Tag Titles. Great reaction for New Day, who got all their usual stuff in. The match ended after Xavier interfered, and Big E./Kofi double teamed Anderson for the win.

(2) Neville beat Bo Dallas (w/Curtis Axel). Basic match, ending when the Red Arrow put Dallas down. After the match, Neville got on the mic and gave props to Bo, before playing up to his home country fans.

(3) Braun Strowman beat Goldust. Strowman is absolutely huge in-person. He sold well for Goldust’s offence, which he got a good amount of in. A bearhug/clutch type manoeuvre from Strowman ended it.

(4) Big Show beat the Shining Stars (Primo & Epico) in a handicap match. Lots of comedy at the start, with Show manhandling each man, then both at the same time. The Stars got some basic offence in, before a double chokeslam ended it.

(5) Cesaro beat Sheamus in the Match #4 of their Best-of-Seven series; Sheamus is now up 3-1. Slow start, but the match really came to life at the end. Cesaro got the win after rolling up Sheamus after escaping the Cloverleaf.

[Intermission]

(6) Women’s champion Charlotte beat Sasha Banks to retain the Women’s Title. Great reaction from Sasha, and a lot safer match than what we’ve seen recently. Charlotte rolled up Sasha after being in the Bank Statement to retain.

(7) Roman Reigns beat Chris Jericho. Great reaction for Jericho, who got on the mic and ran down London and some fans. He was a heel for about a minute until Reigns made his entrance and was booed out the building. Good back and forth match that Reigns won after a spear.

(8) Universal champion Kevin Owens beat Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins to retain the Universal Title. Good action all the way through, and loud reactions for all three. The finish came when Sami delivered a Helluva Kick to Rollins, then Owens powerbombed Zayn for the three.

After the match, Owens attacked Zayn, but Zayn delivered the Helluva Kick to Owens into a Pedigree from Rollins. Sami and Rollins shook hands after the match, and both high-fived fans at ringside to send the fans home happy.

Good show all in all, but disappointed that it wasn’t on the Network as originally advertised. The action on the night made up for it.

  1. “(4) Big Show beat the Shining Stars (Primo & Epico) in a handicap match.”

New guys Big Cass & Enzo Amore lose a tag match to Primo & Epico on Raw, then Big Show beats Epico & Primo all by himself in a handicap match.
    WWE *never* learns.
