New Japan star Shibata is currently injured with a reported “cervical spine injury.”

Shibata was pulled from New Japan’s “Road to Destruction” show Wednesday in Japan. New Japan did not disclose the severity of the injury. (PuroresuSpirit.net)

Shibata is scheduled to defend the NEVER Openweight Title against ROH TV champion Bobby Fish on Saturday night in Tokyo. It remains to be seen if the match takes place.
