SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Former WWE Universal champion Finn Balor returned to Birmingham, Alabama last weekend for a follow-up procedure to repair his severely damaged right shoulder.

WWE released graphic footage showing doctors removing bone marrow from his pelvis bone to be reinserted into his shoulder, where there is a “cartilage defect.”

Dr. Jeffrey Dugas talked to WWE cameras about Balor doing well four weeks into his recovery and needing to do the follow-up procedure to form “a more robust tissue.”

Balor previously said he hopes to return to action by next year’s WrestleMania. Dr. Dugas did not provide an update on whether this follow-up procedure will speed up or slow down the recovery process.

(WARNING: The surgery video released by WWE is graphic and could cause queasiness!)
