SATURDAY NEWS DIGEST 10/1: Latest on TNA ownership and Bound for Glory PPV, Daniels and Kaz health update after ROH PPV, more (w/Keller’s Analysis)

Christopher Daniels & Kazarian (ROHWrestling.com)

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

-After last night’s Ladder Wars main event on the ROH All-Star Extravaganza PPV event, both Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian went to a local E.R. Kazarian needed stitches and staples to close the cut the led to a bloodbath in the match and Daniels needed ten stitches.

-TNA’s ownership status remains a mystery, but all indications are that their annual biggest show of the year, Bound for Glory, is scheduled to take place as planned on Sunday night. Dixie Carter wrote on Twitter: Going to be an INCREDIBLE live #BoundForGlory on Sunday and big things planned for @ImpactWrestling shows.”

-The New York Post reports today BFG will take place. “It’s a go, as far as I’ve been told,” Corgan told The Post. One TNA wrestler tells PWTorch: “This isn’t the first time it’s come down to the last minutes. This time there are more people talking about it.”

Keller’s Analysis: According to the Post story, the funding to get through this next week of PPV and TV tapings came from a mystery source, neither Corgan nor Carter. If that’s the case, it could be a third party interested in buying the company, knowing that if BFG and TV tapings didn’t take place, the company would be hurt badly. Stay tuned as there should be more developments soon, but because they’ll be taping so many weeks of TV next Monday through Friday, other than post-production expenses, there is now a chance the ownership situation won’t resolve itself right away.

-In TNA Wrestling’s Twitter poll, Decay vs. Hardys is the most anticipated match of the night with 65 percent of the vote. Bobby Lashley vs. EC3 is a distant second at 21 percent, followed by Drew Galloway vs. Aron Rex (which has been changed to Eddie Edwards vs. Rex due to Drew’s injury) coming at 9 percent. Moose vs. Mike Bennett, the only other match listed, got 5 percent of votes.

-I wasn’t sure I went to the right website when I checked out WWE.com tonight. There’s a picture of a Stacy Keibler wearing a skin-toned bikini as part of a story on “Women We Miss Most.” There’s a photo montage.

-Raw will take place in Los Angeles, Calif. at Staples Center. Ashton Kuchner and Danny Masterson will be a celebrity guests, confronting Chris Jericho. WWE is advertising T.J. Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick as a match for Kendrick to prove he deserves another Cruiserweight Title shot. So it’s not for the title. Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks is for the Women’s Title.
