NXT LIVE EVENT
SEPTEMBER 8, 2017
ST. CATHERINES, ONTARIO, CANADA
REPORT BY ROBBIE ELLINOR, PWTORCH CORRESPONDENT

The attendance reminded me a lot of TNA house shows I attended in the past. The venue appeared to be tarped off to be half the arena (I’m from London Ontario, so I’m not 100 percent on that.) The floor was full for what they had set up, but much of the floor area wasn’t full. The sides at the side of the ring was full in the lower bowl, but the ends were less full and the upper seats that were there were completely empty. I also found the crowd to be rather quiet, Not getting too hyped up for much throughout the night, but the action was fun!

(1) Johnny Gargano beat Killian Dain, reversing his version of the One Winged Angel into a roll up, fun opener.

(2) Aliyah & Lacey Evans beat Vanessa Bourne & Mandy Rose. The worst match all night, Aliyah certainly got the win, but how? I cant recall lol.

(3) Aleister Black beat Hideo Itami. Fun match. The beginning built up, and Hideo playing to the crowd was fun, the ending was a nice sequence where Hideo wanted to use a Keno stick but the ref took it away and he turned right into Black Mass from Allister.

(4) Tye Dillinger beat Velveteen Dream in a really surprising match. Also a lot of fun. Tye won with a Sharpshooter. I sighed a little at the Canadian using a Sharpshooter in Canada. Am I allowed to be a Canadian who doesn’t like Bret Hart? Hmmmm.

Intermission

(5) Eric Young & Wolf beat Tino Sabatelli & Riddick Moss to retain the NXT Tag Team Titles. The two did do a cool, almost reverse Hart Attack, but Sanity retained with the move they won with at Takeover.

(6) Ember Moon beat Nikki Cross with the Eclipse.

(7) Drew McIntyre beat Bobby Roode and Andrade Cien Almas to retain the NXT Title. Fantastic main event. Drew won with the Claymore. Afterward, Drew gave a emotional promo of his own that usually the wrestlers help the fans forget there troubles, but with everything that’s happening in Florida, tonight we helped the wrestlers forget there troubles. I found it quite touching. He’s so damn believeable. Also, Bobby cut a promo about it isn’t his NXT but all of ours, and how he loved his time there and we all went home!
