NEWS ITEMS: Cena being sued, Kenny Omega announces New Japan English YouTube Channel, WrestleStock ’68 scripted mockumentary premieres next week on Verizon “go90”

-John Cena is being sued for Ford Motor Company for selling a half million dollar car he was supposed to drive, reports TMZ. TMZ reports that according to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Michigan, Cena was “selected from thousands of applicants for the opportunity to purchase the Ford GT.” Ford says Cena signed a deal in which he agreed to hold onto the car for at least 2 years … prior to unloading it. However, Ford claims, soon after receiving the car, Cena flipped it for a big profit. “Mr. Cena has unfairly made a large profit from the unauthorized resale flip of the vehicle, and Ford has suffered additional damages and losses, including, but not limited to, loss of brand value, ambassador activity, and customer goodwill due to the improper sale.” FULL STORY HERE.


-New Japan announced a new YouTube Channel launched today. New Japan announced: “New Japan Pro Wrestling English Youtube Channel debuts December 1, 2017. The New Japan Pro Wrestling team is working hard on global branding and this is the next step. The official New Japan Pro Wrestling English language Youtube channel will feature exclusive content, interviews, pre and post match comments from all New Japan Pro Wrestling stars including subtitles.” Kenny Omega made the announcement in a special video HERE.

-Verizon Media’s “go90” channel will premiere a show titled “Wrestlestock” next Thursday focusing on a three-day Wrestling Festival in the Summer of ’68. Their press statement regarding the scripted series says: “Wrestlers, Divas, and Ring Girls across the country gathered to celebrate free love, but also sweaty grapples, suplexes, and chokeslams. Wrestlestock organizers and modern day wrestlers recount the historic series of events that led to the most legendary Battle Royal you’ve never heard of.” Verizon also touts that the series chronicling “the greatest untold and untrue stories in sports history” continues to be among the most watched series on Verizon Media’s go90 platform and will once again feature the biggest names in comedy and entertainment along with pro-athletes playing both themselves and fictional characters. Featured in the episode: John Morrison, Joey Ryan, Damien Sandow, Rocky Romeo, Ryan Nemeth, and JTG.
