Contract news: Omega signs new contract with NJPW, ROH contract updates, Ricochet, War Machine, LeRae, and more to WWE, Sapolsky signs with WWE (UPDATED)

-IWGP U.S. Champion Kenny Omega has signed a new one year deal with NJPW according to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer. The Wrestling Observer reports that Omega signed his new contract on Jan. 9. Omega had spoken in interviews about wanting to stay in NJPW and help the company grow. He’s also being relied upon to establish the IWGP U.S. Championship as the company expands its global reach in 2018.

Update: According to multiple sources Omega signed his new deal a month ago or longer. He is also said to have gotten raise from his previous contract.

Michael Elgin’s NJPW contract is expected to expire in the near future. Multiple sources tell PWTorch he has not signed a new deal with NJPW yet.

-ROH has been locking a number of talents up under contract. Brandon and Brent, who appear as The Boy’s with Dalton Castle, announced they have signed their first deals with the company on Brent’s Twitter account. PWTorch has confirmed that Brandon and Brent are under non-exclusive deals that allow them to take independent bookings that don’t conflict with ROH.

The Beer City Bruiser (Matt Winchester) announced he has signed a new deal with Ring of Honor on his Twitter account that allows him to take a limited amount of indie bookings.

UPDATE: Winchester’s deal is a limited non-exclusive deal. He will take select indie bookings, but will not be a regular on the independent scene when ROH isn’t running events.

PWTorch has learned from multiple sources that T.K. O’Ryan and Vinny Marseglia of The Kingdom have signed new exclusive Ring of Honor contracts. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reports that Matt Taven has also signed a new exclusive deal as well.

-War Machine (Hanson & Rowe) are expected to sign with WWE and report to NXT in the near future. PWTorch has confirmed PWInsider’s original report the report with WWE sources. Hanson is pushing his upcoming appearance at Chaotic Wrestling on Jan. 12 as his last appearance with the promotion. AIW also announced that Rowe’s upcoming match against Keith Lee on Jan. 19 will be his last appearance with the promotion..

-PWG World Champion Ricochet is expected to sign with WWE and report to NXT in the near future according to multiple sources. PWG is running a mystery show called Mystery Vortex V on Jan. 12 with no talent or matches announced. and it is likely the last opportunity they will have to have Ricochet drop the title before he reports to NXT.

Longtime independent wrestler Candice LeRae, who competed in the WWE Mae Young Classic last year, has signed with WWE and is expected to report to the Performance Center in the near future as first reported by Casey Michael of Squared Circle Sirens. LeRae signed her deal after completing medical testing.

Michael is also reporting that Shadia Bseiso of Amman, Jordan has reported to the Performance Center after signing a deal in October of 2017. Bseiso has a background in athletics, as she is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu practioner and has a background in CrossFit as well.  Bseiso was also part of the 2014 Abu Dhabi World Pro Championship where she got the silver medal in her weight category and the bronze medal overall.

-WWE has also signed MMA fighter Nicolai Salchow and he is reporting to the Performance Center this month. Salchow compiled a 6-1-0 record in MMA. The company has also signed Nassser Jamal Alruwayeh to a developmental deal. He is the first person from Kuwait to sign a WWE contract. He will report to the Performance Center next week.

-WWN VP and EVOLVE booker Gabe Sapolsky has signed with WWE as a consultant according to PWInsider.com. PWTorch has since confirmed the report. Sapolsky will remain with EVOLVE in the same position while continuing to serve as a consultant at NXT. Sapolsky had been a regular backstage at NXT TV tapings and PPVs under a handshake deal.

According to multiple sources in NXT, Sapolsky is well-liked by Triple H and William Regal, which is why he was signed to an official contract. According to those close to Sapolsky, he is hoping that his role in NXT will expand. As previously reported by PWTorch, Sapolsky cultivated his own relationship with WWE after WWN signed a deal to air their content on FloSlam in 2016 and he began working under a handshake deal with WWE as a consultant in 2017.
