“THE NEXT CHAPTER BRINGS BLOOD”

The big angle advertised for this evening’s NXT is who will face Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly for the tag team gold in Philadelphia. It was only a few weeks ago that the Undisputed “SHOCKED” the faction known as SANITY on a regular Wednesday night episode and stole the titles thanks to an assist from their stable leader Adam Cole. Seven days ago they were supposed to give Eric Young and company their contractually obligated rematch but instead opted to attack their challengers backstage. This brought out an irate William Regal who insisted that the belts would be defended as soon as he found some worthy opponents. He didn’t have to look long: Roderick Strong and Aleister Black answered the call, both with a history of issues with the three former Ring of Honor headliners. Yet somehow, the Undisputed emerged victorious.

That leads us to tonight, where another hot tag-team in the Street Profits looks to finally capitalize on all their momentum and earn the title match they ever so crave. However, to do that they’ll have to defeat the dangerous pair of Akam and Rezar. The Authors have been quietly sitting on the sidelines since WarGames, waiting for the perfect time to remerge from the shadows and write another chapter in their book of pain. The winner gets a marquee matchup at Takeover in two weeks. Who do you think will move on? I love Montez and Dawkins, but are they ready for Ellering’s boys?

THE UNDERDOGS OVERCOME”

One title match that is already set in stone is NXT Champion Andrade Cien Almas putting the gold on the line against the ultimate underdog… Johnny Gargano. Johnny Wrestling survived a fatal-four way against two monsters and the scariest man in the WWE (Black) to earn this opportunity. He’s already been in the ring with Almas twice, and both times had victory in sights until Zelina Vega foiled his attempts. Speaking of, Zelina insists that neither she nor Andrade find Gargano to be that big of a threat, and are all but guaranteeing a successful title defense. They aren’t the only ones who believe that though…

The Velveteen Dream interrupted an interview Gargano was giving in order to put in his two cents: “The only reason you advanced is because I was injured and you took my spot.” It is true. The original qualifier was supposed to be Kassius Ohno against the Dream but Johnny replaced him last minute. Will the former DIY man be able to overcome all the doubt? #Ibelieve

“BULLY FOR YOU, BULLY FOR ME”

-The NXT Women’s Championship will certainly be defended on Royal Rumble weekend, and while not yet announced, it seems pretty obvious who Ember Moon’s opponent will be. The Mae Young Classic runner-up: Shayna Bazler. The former MMA star has been making life HELL backstage for the division, and recently she all but ripped Dakota Kai’s arm from her tiny little body. Moon ran out to run her off, but will she be able to even attempt the Eclipse on a monster like Shayna? Time will tell.

-Lars Sullivan is angry. Lars Sullivan is so angry that he nearly killed Lio Rush. Lars Sullivan wants challenge. Lars Sullivan calls out Killian Dain. LARS SULLIVAN…IS GOING TO DESTROY EVERYONE.

-New signees to the Performance Center! The supremely talented Candice LeRae (Johnny G’s wife), the VERY powerful tag-team War Machine, and the man that LITERALLY flies, Trevor Ricochet. BRING ON THE *****’s baby.

Two weeks until Takeover. You watching?
