SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

-In a conference call with top WWE executives George Barrios and Michelle Wilson this morning, they discussed the new Fox and USA Network TV deals. Barrios said the new deal for Raw increases the annual value 3.6 times over the previous deal. He also said they expect to finalize deals in the U.K. and India early next year. They said there is no chance to strike digital deals for Raw and Smackdown under these new linear TV agreements with Fox and USA. There has been talk about a new program for FS1, but nothing is decided in that regard. Read more with a detailed report at ProWrestling.net HERE.

-Shinsuke Nakamura was bitten backstage in Bakersfield, Calif. at a Sunday night house show, as reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. The injury prevented him from being medically cleared at Smackdown last night. WWE did not inform the live audience of the change, which led to a deflated audience when Sanity came out instead without explanation. WWE has not commented on the incident other than to announce on their website and on Smackdown last night he sustained an injury.

-A.J. Styles and Carmella are doing publicity this week for the Australian stadium show, thus weren’t at Smackdown last night. They appeared in an AFL football team uniforms for Carlton and Collingwood, who were playing at the MCG stadium on Sunday afternoon. Styles’s team won! [Thanks to PWTorch reader John O.]
