By Tyler Sage, PWTorch contributor

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

The following is the latest in a new series of weekly in-depth articles exclusive to PWTorch which will help put in perspective major wrestling promotions with a weekly overview, looking at news and roster developments, results, future line-ups, social media activity, key interviews, plus a timely commentary at the end. We will be featuring similar features on other promotions each week and each will be updated weekly.

•Top Stories of the Week

-This week’s main attraction was ROH’s Glory by Honor in Baltimore, Md. This event streamed live on Honor Club as well as on the Fite App ($9.99 through Fite). The event had two title bouts as well as many mainstays of the ROH roster.

-As in the previous pay-per-view/Honor Club event, Death Before Dishonor, no titles changed hands. The event itself was more of a transitional show to set up a number of feuds that will help to set up the next few months of ROH programming.

-The next Honor Club event is taking place in Columbus, Ohio on 11/4. Survival of the Fittest was discussed a number of times by the commentary team.

-Spoilers have appeared online about the latest batch of TV tapings that took place on Sunday, Oct. 14. Again, there are obvious spoilers ahead, WrestlingInc.com

-This week’s episode of Being The Elite essentially doubled down on the overall plot of last week’s episode. The main theme was about the contract status of all the members of the Bullet Club. Every member was in a skit making fun of the rumors surrounding all of them. SCU also played a prominent role in the beginning of the episode. Overall, there was not much going on plot wise that was not brought up last week. But, the slapstick humor in the episode was a nice change of pace compared to previous episodes.

•Closing Commentary

We are a number of weeks away before we have another Honor Club event, and before the influx of New Japan talent helps to give us new and exciting matches come November. I want to talk about someone who I believe is being criminally underutilized on screen. That wrestler is none other than Cheeseburger.

I saw Cheeseburger perform for the first time at an ROH live event. When I first saw him walk out to the ring I remember thinking “who is this guy?” But, after only a few minutes I was so enamored with his character. This was a true underdog, someone who loves pro wrestling and didn’t let his physical size stop him from chasing his dream. I thought to myself If I would have seen someone like Cheeseburger when I was a teenager, that he would have inspired me to try my hand at wrestling also.

Every match I watch with Cheeseburger reminds me why I love professional wrestling. I’m not saying that he should be elevated to ROH World Champion tomorrow. I am only suggesting that at an event like Survival of the Fittest, why not have Cheeseburger in the six-man elimination match? Cheeseburger losing to someone like Matt Taven would only help to get both over in the process. I believe that if booked properly, Cheeseburger could be more much more valuable to ROH.
