WWE LIVE EVENT REPORT
OCTOBER 22, 2018
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.
REPORT BY MIKE OMANSKY, PWTORCH CORRESPONDENT

The crowd was packed, about 50 seats short of a sellout.

The show start to finish was around two-and-a-half hours.

(1) Jeff Hardy beat Andrade Cien Almas (w/Zelina Vega) after a Swanton. A fast-paced opener. Good back and forth, seemed evenly matched for most of it.After the match, Randy Orton ran in to attack Hardy and laid him out with an RKO.

(2) Rusev (w/Lana) beat Aiden English via Accolade submission. Pretty one-sided match, only about five minutes.

(3) Asuka & Carmella defeated The Iconics via submission. Decent match.

(4) Becky Lynch beat Charlotte to retain the Smackdown Women’s Title. Very strong match. In the end, Becky was outside of the ring and threw a chair into ring The ref grabbed it and started talking to ring announcer on the side.  As ref was handing the chair to the ring announcer, Becky grabbed another and hit Charlotte in her stomach. She then jumped back in the ring for the pin.

(5) The Bar beat The New Day (Big E & Xavier Woods) when Cesaro pinned Big E to retain the Smackdown Tag Team Titles. Standard decent match between these two teams. Kofi ran around ringside. In the end, Cesaro poked Big E in the eye and then slammed him for the win.

(6) Daniel Bryan pinned The Miz. Lots of stalling by Miz before the match. He spent what felt like ten minutes wanting to remove his sunglasses and robe. The match had a lot of punching and kicking.

(7) A.J. Styles beat Shinsuke Nakamura after the Styles Clash to retain the WWE Title. Best match of the night. Good moves from both.

NOTE; The originally advertised main event was Styles vs. Samoa Joe.
