SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Beyond Wrestling announced today that they are partnering with powerbomb.tv, which is re-branding and becoming independentwrestling.tv, for a new weekly series of events that will launch on April 3. The events will take place at Electric Haze in Worcester, Mass., which is one of Beyond Wrestling’s regular stops. The press release states that the goal of this weekly show is to find new and undiscovered talent and give them a platform, which is something Beyond Wrestling has been doing for years.

Radican’s Analysis: This is a bold move on Beyond Wrestling’s part. It’s really hard for independent companies to generate buzz these days it seems, but Beyond Wrestling owner Drew Cordeiro is smart to take this risk in my opinion. Beyond Wrestling has been at the forefront of discovering independent talent and showcasing them since the company launched in 2009, but it was really in 2013 when they began running full scale events that the company began to blossom.

Wrestlers like Donovan Dijak, Keith Lee, and Biff Busick made a name for themselves in Beyond Wrestling. In recent years, Joey Janela and David Starr have broken through in Beyond Wrestling as well and made a name for themselves.

The biggest obstacle I see for Beyond Wrestling is drawing enough fans to the shows each week to give the events a lively atmosphere. Beyond Wrestling usually has a good and vocal crowd, but asking their fans to show up to the same venue week in and week out is going to be difficult.

Another factor for the company in making this a successful venture is whether or not they can find enough good talent to capture the interest of fans and generate views and subscriptions on independentwrestling.tv. If fans see one or two talents break out during the first month of the show, it may keep them coming back. It’s going to be interesting to watch this story unfold in April.
