SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

WWE LIVE EVENT
MARCH 22, 2019
TRENTON, N.J.
REPORT BY KYLE FROM PHILLY, PWTORCH VIP MEMBER

If you attend a live event, please send results with details on the matches, crowd reactions, and attendance to pwtorch@pwtorch.com. Thanks!

(1) Drew McIntyre defeated Dean Ambrose .

(2) No Way Jose beat EC3.

Finn Balor vs. Elias was scheduled. No match. Elias entertained the crowd before being interrupted by Balor. Elias asked Balor to sing a duet with him. They sang together and it was surprisingly very good. Elias got jealous and attacked Balor, but it was Balor who got the better of him in the end.

(3) Apollo Crews beat Luke Harper.

Alexa Bliss hosted “A Moment of Bliss.” Alexa Bliss heeled on the crowd, then interviewed Natalya about her tag team match at WrestleMania.

(4) Natalya & Nikki Cross beat Alexa Bliss & Lacey Evans. It was originally Bliss vs. Natalya. Lacey Evans attacked Natalya. Nikki Cross came out for the save. A tag match followed.

Nikki Cross and Natalya were attacked by Ruby Riott & Sarah Logan and then they challenged Sasha & Bayley for their titles.

(5) Sasha Banks & Bayley beat The Riott Squad (w/Liv Morgan).

(6) The Ascension & Mojo Rawley beat Zack Ryder & Titus O’Neil & Kurt Hawkins.

(7) The Revival beat Bobby Roode & Chad Gable to retain the Raw Tag Team Titles. Match of the night. Tons of believable near falls.

(8) Braun Strowman beat Baron Corbin in a no DQ match.

Notes: WWE delivered on the matches that they had advertised for this show. The arena was only half full and no tickets were even available to buy for the upper bowl, which kept the crowd mostly around the ring. This is a minor league hockey stadium, so it’s fairly small.

I was really surprised at the lack of star power that was presented. I was also surprised with how well the crowd reacted to some of the wrestlers who have not been presented on TV much recently. No Way Jose, Curt Hawkins, and Luke Harper all got big reactions.

Alexa Bliss went full heel on the crowd during her “Moment of Bliss,” much more of a heel than she had been previously presented on TV.

I was also very surprised that Dean Ambrose and Drew McIntyre went on first. Ambrose got a huge reaction and was very enthusiastic during his entrance and match. He definitely did not phone it in.

Sasha, Bayley, Dean Ambrose, and Braun Strowman got the biggest reactions while Chad Gable & Bobby Roode and the Revival had the crowd on the edge of their seats during their match for the Raw tag team titles.

As for merchandise, I wasn’t surprised to see that most of the merch being offered were from wrestlers who weren’t even on the show. This felt much more like a Raw show but it was not necessarily advertised as one. Roman Reigns was not on the show, but he got mostly cheered when he appeared on the big screen.

Thanks for reading and I love being a VIP member.
