SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

This week’s episode of WWE Smackdown Live (3/26) drew a 1.69 rating, up from last week’s 1.65 rating. It was the highest rating for Smackdown since Oct. 16 last year. While Raw’s rating dropped this week, Smackdown’s went up, indicative perhaps of the appeal of seeing the Kofi Kingston-Vince McMahon saga take a step toward resolution, or perhaps the advertised A.J. Styles vs. Kurt Angle match.

Smackdown has been on a steady rise during the push of Kofi Kingston as a rising singles contender. February started at 1.39 and grew to 1.54, 1.63, and 1.57, then entered March at 1.60 and 1.60 followed by 1.65 and then 1.69 this week.

Raw, meanwhile, has been on the decline since drawing a 2.05 in Feb. 25 with ratings since of 1.98, 1.97, 1.94, and 1.8o this week.

Smackdown drew 2.393 million viewers this week, up from 2.208 million last week, an increase of 185,000 whereas Raw was down 110,000 this week compared to last week.

The average rating for Smackdown this year is 1.55 compared to 1.78 a year ago through this week.

One year ago Smackdown drew a 1.76 rating and 1.81 two years ago.
