In the male 18-34 demo, it drew a 1.28 rating, well over double last week’s 0.52 rating, and among male 18-49 demo, it drew a 1.81 rating, double last week’s 0.90. Those demographic numbers are nearly exactly the same as the year-ago numbers, too.

The website TV By The Numbers wrote about Friday Night Smackdown’s first ratings on Fox:

The champion of Friday night’s broadcast ratings was, unquestionably, Fox. The network smashed its way to an easy victory in the second week of the new TV season with “Friday Night SmackDown,” as the WWE came back to FOX for the first time since November 14, 1992. The triumphant return appears to have paid off handsomely, with the event scoring a 1.4 rating in adults 18-49 and drawing 3.87 million viewers. This allowed the broadcast to lead the demo not just across both hours it aired, but across the entire night.

  1. Comparing apples with oranges. Fox is basic tv which everyone has, as opposed to USA which is still a cable network which not everyone subscribes to. The ratings will be down this Friday!!!!!
