ROH TV REPORT
NOVEMBER 3, 2019
NEW ORLEANS, LA AT UNO LAKEFRONT ARENA
AIRED ON ROHWRESTLING.COM
REPORT BY HARLEY R. PAGEOT, PWTORCH CONTRIBUTOR

Hosts: Ian Riccaboni, Quinn McKay

Opening theme.

-Highlights of the battle royal to earn a world title match from Glory By Honor on October 12. Brawler Milonas eliminated Big Daddy Yum Yum. Silas Young eliminated Milonas. Josh Woods asked for a hug but Young tossed him out to win.

-Riccaboni and McKay checked in.

-Jonathan Gresham vs. Alex Shelley from Glory By Honor aired in its entirety. Riccaboni, Colt Cabana, and Caprice Coleman were on commentary.

(1) ALEX SHELLEY vs. “THE OCTOPUS” JONATHAN GRESHAM

Gresham looked for the octopus but Shelley stepped forward and managed to pin Gresham’s shoulders to the mat.

WINNER: Alex Shelley in 14:32.

-Gresham shoved aside a ring crew member and grabbed a steel chair. Lethal hit the ring in street clothes. Gresham thought about hitting Lethal with the chair but wavered. Lethal told him they had a great match and he had nothing to be ashamed of. He managed to talk Gresham into shaking Shelley’s hand.

(Pageot’s Perspective: This was recorded prior to Honor United: London where Lethal & Gresham turned full heel so the post-match show of respect here is irrelevant to any storyline.)

-In first-run footage ROH World Television Champion Shane Taylor was found backstage. He doesn’t care about social media relevancy. He promised to break the single-reign defense record and become the greatest champion ROH has seen inside and outside the ring. [C]

-A black and white recap aired of TK O’Ryan and Vincent Marseglia being found “unconscious” backstage at Death By Dishonor: Fallout. At Glory By Honor Matt Taven and Marseglia went to the ring to call out the attacker but nothing happened.

-In first-run footage ROH staff approached Marseglia backstage somewhere. They had questions for him and said Gary Juster from the office sent them. They asked who attacked Marseglia but he attacked one of them instead.

(Pageot’s Perspective: Marseglia himself was revealed to be the mystery attacker at The Experience on November 2 so that would explain why he was so put off by them interrogating him here.)

-Our hosts discussed the Survival Of The Fittest tag tournament that was supposed to take place next weekend but has since been postponed until next summer.

-A vignette aired on a Bully Ray-Mark Haskins feud including Ray insulting Haskins’ wife Vicky. Ray used some outdated insults from the ‘50s like accusing Vicky of wearing the pants in their relationship. Haskins was similarly over the top with his indignation that a heel wrestler would dare to say something insulting. [C]

(Pageot’s Perspective: Every clip in this package came from Death Before Dishonor as that one incident has been literally the only build to this feud. Let me guess, it will be some sort of street fight at Final Battle and Haskins will win after Vicky low blows Ray. Then he’ll go away for a month, come back to attack someone else, pretend nothing happened, and Haskins won’t gain anything. Rinse and repeat.)

-Highlights of Rush defeating Taven to win the world title at Death Before Dishonor.

-After winning the battle royal earlier in the night at Glory By Honor Silas Young challenged Rush for the world title later on in the show. “The Genius” Lanny Poffo was on commentary with Riccaboni and Cabana.

(2) “EL TORO BLANCO” RUSH vs. “THE LAST REAL MAN” SILAS YOUNG – ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Young dominated the first six minutes. Rush came back and ran Young around the ringside area, into the timekeeper’s table and a chair. Tranquilo pose. Back senton avoided by Young. Milwaukee Plunge. The Bull’s Horns.

WINNER: Rush in 10:20 to retain the world title.
