Matches and Segments announced for the show

Damian Priest and Killian Dain lock horns

After coming up short in a Triple-Threat Match at NXT Takeover, Damian Priest and Killian Dain will look to settle the score as they will clash on NXT. How will both Dain and Priest respond after losing an opportunity to wrestle for the NXT Title.

(Amin’s Analysis: This should be a good match as both Dain and Priest are talented wrestlers. I’m also interested to see what’s next for Priest because he plays such a great character and should be in contention for an NXT Title at some point.)

Rhea Ripley looks for revenge against Dakota Kai on NXT

After betraying Tegan Nox at Takeover, Dakota Kai showed a more intense side as she viciously attacked Candice LeRae last week on NXT. Before things got completely out of hand, Rhea Ripley appeared to make the save. The question is will Ripley be able to put a stop to Kai’s new aggressive side?

(Amin’s Analysis: This should be interesting to watch as I really liked how Kai changed her wrestling style and showed a more aggressive side against LeRae last week. This should be a good match and I look forward to seeing how this plays out because Kai shouldn’t lose because she just turned heel. Ripley shouldn’t take a loss either because she’s looks be next in line for a championship match. I could see Baszler get involved being the build for a championship match.)

How will Adam Cole respond to Finn Balor’s attack?

With the assistance of Adam Cole, Finn Balor defeated Tommaso Ciampa in last week’s main event. Cole celebrated with Balor assuming he’s got a new ally by his side. However, the leader of the Undisputed Era was mistaken as Balor laid him out with a Pele Kick. The question is how will Cole respond to Balor’s attack. However, Balor might have other problems on his hands as Johnny Gargano tweeted the following on social media.

(Amin’s Analysis: Finn Balor’s reemergence on NXT has been terrific so far as they have been taking the fans on a ride with all the twists and turns. I wouldn’t rush Balor into an NXT Championship match with Cole right way. After Gargano post on Twitter, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get another twist in this Balor story even if we don’t get a return from Gargano on tonight’s show.)

Can Lio Rush and Angel Garza be kept apart?

The rivalry between NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush and Angel Garza continues grow by the week. The rivalry reached a boiling point after Rush decked Garza during the Takeover pre-show. Garza didn’t take to kindly as he crashed Rush’s post-match interview after he just successfully defend the NXT Cruiserweight Title against Akira Tozawa in a great wrestling match. The question is how long can Garza and Rush be kept apart before facing off in an eventual rematch for the NXT Cruiserweight Title.

(Amin’s Analysis: I’ve been really enjoying how the wrestlers of 205 Live have been showcased on NXT compared to Raw and Smackdown as they’ve been putting on good wrestling matches. I also like how they aren’t rushing this program and continuing make the NXT Cruiserweight Title feel just as important as the other NXT Titles. I’m sure Garza and Rush will have another great pro wrestling match when the eventual rematch is announced.)

The Big Takeaway From Last Week’s Show

Finn Balor laid out NXT Champion Adam Cole who assisted him in defeating Tommaso Ciampa in the main event. Rhea Ripley has made her intention clear as she want a shot at the NXT Women’s Title. Lio Rush successfully defend the NXT Cruiserweight Title against Akira Tozawa in a great pro wrestling match.

Overall Thoughts

This should be another great episode as NXT always delivers consistent high quality wrestling on a weekly basis. I’m interested to see how NXT can keep the momentum going as we should start seeing a clear direction as to what are the big programs coming out of Takeover: WarGames.
