Becky Lynch set to miss to Monday Night Raw

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Becky Lynch will address last week’s attack on Bianca Belair on this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw.

Lynch assaulted Belair after Belair defeated Doudrop with the K.O.D. Lynch used the steel ring steps and the announce table to level Belair. From there, Lynch smashed Belair’s face into a steel chair before using Belair’s braid to pull her and the chair face first into the ring post. WWE would later report that Belair suffered a fractured hyoid bone in her throat because of the attack and is sidelined indefinitely. Belair is scheduled to face Lynch for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship on night one of WrestleMania on April 2.

Lynch returned to the WWE from maternity leave at Summerslam in Las Vegas. She was a surprise opponent for Belair and the Smackdown Women’s Championship after Sasha Bank unexpectedly was pulled from the match. Lynch hit a cheap shot punch on Belair to start the match and pinned her in 26 seconds to win the belt. Belair defeated Banks at WrestleMania 37 to win her first championship. She was the winner of the 2021 Royal Rumble, which afforded her the title match and main event at WrestleMania.

WrestleMania 38 will stream live on Peacock on Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3. Matches across the weekend include Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship, The Mysterios vs. Logan Paul & The Miz, Austin Theory vs. Pat McAfee, A.J. Styles vs. Edge, and Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship.
