GCW JOEY JANELA’S SPRING BREAK 6: PART 2
APRIL 2, 2022
DALLAS, TEX
AIRED LIVE ON FITE.TV

Commentary: Kevin Gill and Dave Prazak

(1) MATT CARDONA w/CHELSEA GREEN vs. CHRIS DICKINSON w/MISSY HYATT

Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green did a long heel promo talking about how GCW sucks and how six years ago he had won the Intercontinental Title at Wrestlemania. He praised his friend Mark Calloway for being in the Hall of Fame, like he soon will. he then called out Dickinson and Missy Hyatt, both of them came out.

Green kissed Cardona to start, Hyatt then kissed Dickinson. The two men then battled on the mat, Cardona yapped at Hyatt. Dickinson took advantage and worked over Cardona. After that exchange Cardona began to walk away from the match, but he reentered. Chelsea Green grabbed the foot of Dickinson, Cardona then got a quick two count and then got in his offense.

Cardona set up a door in the corner and Dickinson hit a back body drop, sending Cardona through the table. The two then traded stiff shots in the middle of the ring. Dickinson hit a brain buster for a two count, Green then pulled the foot of Chris. Cardona then took advantage once more and got a near fall on Dickinson.

Hyatt grabbed the foot of Cardona, and then punched Green. Dickinson hit the Death Valley driver, but Green stole Hyatt’s bag. Dickinson was distracted and Cardona hit a low blow, but it was only a two count. Green then accidentally hit Cardona with the purse. Dickinson then hit Green and then Cardona, he stacked them both and pinned the couple.

WINNER: Chris Dickinson

(Sage’s Analysis: A standard Cardona GCW match. That is not a bad thing to me, but you either like him and Green as heel’s or you want to fast forward. Dickinson getting over the low blow and taking out both on his own was a nice change, GCW typically lets heels like this go over.)

(2) BIFF BUSICK vs. TONY DEPPEN

Biff Busick and Tony Deppen started by trading mat moves and control was 50/50 for the first few minutes. The match moved outside the ring, where Biff hit some insane shots, until Busick chopped the ring post and Deppen took over. Busick countered by uppercutting Deppen as he jumped off the top rope.

Biff then slapped Deppen hard in the face three times, Deppen countered with a slap of his own. Tony then got the upper hand and hit moves for several moments. Deppen tricked Busick and hit a cannonball dive and then got a near fall on Biff. Both men traded chops and punches, Deppen then worked over the injured hand of Biff. Busick collapsed during a submission attempt and fell into the ropes to break the hold.

Busick hit slaps to the face and upper cuts, Deppen countered an upper cut attempt, into a German Suplex. Deppen then hit a running knee for the pinfall win.

WINNER: Tony Deppen

(Sage’s Analysis: An insanely good match Deppen and Busick laid in for real on a lot of those shots. The match was violent and exciting. Deppen continues to improve and he does not have a bad match with anyone. Biff looked great, and it is insane how big he looks on the Independent scene, physically.)

(3) JORDAN OLIVER vs. SPEEDBALL MIKE BAILEY

Jordan Oliver and Mike Bailey battled until Bailey went to the outside, Oliver hit a super fast dive sending Bailey into the front row chairs. Speedball then hit a running knee and sent Oliver into the opposite side from row, and hit a knee dive on Oliver. The two men made their way back into the ring, where Bailey continued the assault.

The two traded big kicks to the head of each other and then they shared a strong style moment. Oliver hit another head kick and then a power bomb for a near fall. Oliver slipped on the top rope and went to the outside, Speedball made an audible and hit a moonsault out onto his opponent. They battled on the apron, where Bailey hit a standing backflip on the apron.

Speedball then tried a move off the top, but Oliver countered. Each man traded pinning attempts, Bailey hit a head kick and got a near fall. Bailey went to the top again, Oliver hit two cutters for a near fall. Oliver then went to the top and missed. Bailey hit a One-Winged Angel like move for the pinfall win.

WINNER: Speedball Mike Bailey

(Sage’s Analysis: A great indie “spotfest,” in the best way. There was no real story or selling, just a clinic of insane moves by two young guys.)

(4) EFFY vs. MINORU SUZUKI

Effy asked Suzuki to kiss him on the cheek to start, Suzuki offered his cheek for a kiss. When Effy went in for the kiss, he got a mean slap. Effy then blocked a slap and hit a major slap back on his opponent. Suzuki kicked a kneeling Effy and then battled and worked over him on the outside. Effy took some slaps and asked for more, the third one sent Effy to the floor.

Effy then got a slap of his own and sold that he hurt his hand more than he hurt Suzuki’s chest. Suzuki flipped the script and hit three more of his own. Effy was put in a seat and he was kicked to the floor. The match made its way back to the ring, where Suzuki tried to submit via an arm hold.

Effy was knocked to the mat, he then twisted the nipples of Suzuki and then bit said nipples into a northern light suplex. Effy then kissed Suzuki as the crowd chanted holy shit. Suzuki then hit the pile driver for the pinfall win.

WINNER: Minoru Suzuki

(Sage’s Analysis: A match that you will only see in GCW. A comedy, violence match, something I have truly never seen.)
