SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

This week’s episode of NXT 2.0 is headlined by Carmelo Hayes vs. Santos Escobar. Last week on the show, Escobar called Hayes out for losing the NXT North American Championship to Cameron Grimes and said that he needed to head to the back of the line as a potential challenger for the belt.

NXT has new men’s tag team champions after Pretty Deadly were victorious in last week’s five team Gauntlet Match with the vacated titles on the line. Pretty Deadly defeated The Creed Brothers, Legado Del Fantasma, Briggs & Jensen, and Grayson Waller & Sanga to secure the belts. MSK vacated the titles after Nash Carter was released from his WWE contract due to allegations of abuse.

Announced matches on the show include:

  • Natalya vs. Tatum Paxley
  • Tiffany Stratton vs. Sarray
  • Santos Escobar vs. Carmelo Hayes

Last week, Bron Breakker addressed Joe Gacy and Harland kidnapping his father, Rick Steiner. Breakker told them not to mess with his family. Gacy responded via video on the big screen and burned Rick Steiner’s WWE Hall of Fame ring. Breakker inducted The Steiner Brothers into the 2022 class of the Hall of Fame over WrestleMania weekend.

Breakker is the NXT Champion and won the title from Dolph Ziggler on the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania. Breakker wrestled Dolph Ziggler at Stand and Deliver over WrestleMania weekend, but lost that match. He is now a two-time NXT Champion.
