WWE Smackdown was the number one rated show with adults 18-49 on Friday night according to Showbuzz. The rating clocked in at 0.52, which was down from a 0.62 the prior week. The show drew a viewership average of 2.19 million.

Smackdown this week featured a number one contenders match between Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. The winner of that bout received a title opportunity against Roman Reigns at the Clash of the Castle PLE event in the UK on September 3.

The show on Friday also featured Liv Morgan and Ronda Rousey against Sonya Deville and Natalya, as well as The Viking Raiders against The New Day.

In the main event, Paul Heyman cut a Summerslam go-home promo against Brock Lesnar. Lesnar confronted Heyman with a smile, but the two were interrupted by Theory. Lesnar hit Theory with an F5 as the show went off the air.

Lesnar lost his WWE Undisputed Universal Championship match at Summerslam to Roman Reigns. The Usos also retained their titles at Summerslam over The Street Profits. This week on Raw, they are scheduled to defend their titles again, this time against the team Rey and Dominik Mysterio.
