ECW house show
September 10, 2006
Schenectady, N.Y.
Report by Freddy Berowski, PWTorch.com correspondent

There was a pretty good sized crowd at the Center City Sportsplex. Not sold out, but a good amount of people. Truthfully there was nothing extreme about this show and at the end, people were pissed.

(1) Stevie Richards beat Rene Dupree. standard match, lots of rest holds, Stevie got the win with a roll-up from behind after Rene got caught trying to pin Stevie with his feet on the ropes- huge pop for Stevie. Lots of “BWO” and “Lets go Stevie chants”. Dupree was wearing generic white tights with no kneepads and plain white boots. Really funny “tightie whitie” chants

(2) Paul Heyman’s Enforcers beat FBI. Good pop for Guido. Horrible match, several missed spots. Lots of “boring” chants. Mamaluke got pinned after he went for a roll up on one of the Bashams, and with the referee distracted, the other one hit him with the baton. The shot looked really bad, he barely touched him on the back and Mamaluke went out cold.

(3) Kevin Thorne beat Eric Neikirk. Nice pop for Ariel and Thorne. Chants of “Mordecai” and “He/She’s got herpes” directed at the 2 goth characters. Crowd got behind Neikirk, albeit tongue in cheek, with “Lets go jobber” chants. Nothing exciting at all in this match. Thorne hit his over the rope stunner finisher to get the win.

(4) Best Body Contest: Francine beat Kelly Kelly. As Justin Roberts was getting ready to make the intros, Matt Striker came out. Probably the best segment of the night. Striker was so over… lots of heat. Great mic work. No question fans were behind the original Queen of Extreme. After the contest Striker degraded both women and Sandman came out, caned Striker, and did his walk through the crowd around the building. Biggest pop of the night was for Sandman, everyone was on their feet.

After the intermission.

(5) C.M. Punk beat C.W. Anderson by submission not what I expected out of Punk. He got a good pop coming out but nothing more. Missed several spots and got the “you f’d up chants” about three times. Nothing special at all from Punk. Got a chant “take the pepsi plunge” due to the tattoo on his arm that resembles the Pepsi logo. Also “we want tables” chants started picking up steam… by the end of this match the crowd was a little steamed as nothing yet, had been extreme.

(6) RVD beat Bob Holly in an *Extreme Rules* Match- good match but there was really nothing much in the way of weapons. One chair came into use but no chair shots. RVD did a rolling thunder on Holly using a chair and Holly dropped RVD with a body slam or suplex a few times on the chair but that was it. RVD missed the 5 Star Frog Splash, Holly went for the Alabama Slam, RVD countered with a sunset flip for the win.

(7) Big Show beat Sabu to retain the ECW Hvt. Title. The fans were not happy. No extreme rules. Lots of “same old sh–” chants and “boring chants.” Lots of headlocks and leg scissors. Big Show dominated. He grabbed the mic a few times indicating that yes it was the “same old sh–” but according to him it works. (Note: it doesn’t.) Acknowledged the boring chants by saying the fans can’t spell boring. Bob Holly runs down to interfere but RVD stops him. Sabu gets choke slammed and pinned after about ten minutes.

Notes: Large old school ECW crowd with some newer fans (about 75-25 split) many of the old school fans were pissed as nothing even remotely resembled the old- ECW
