-Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt
-The show started with a graphic and a voiceover from Tom Hannifan talking about the passing of Hulk Hogan, They cut to the live crowd, who chanted “USA.”
-Highlight video of Slammiversary.
-“Cross the Line” open.
-Santino Marella did his entrance and got on the mic in the ring. He addressed Ethan Page and said he would see him on Tuesday. Masha Slamovich’s music played, and she walked to the ring. She said that Jacy Jayne stole the title from her and she wanted a rematch. Santino said she could have it. Masha was happy and left the ring. Santino said the match would take place next week.
The System came out next, They were in red and yellow. Except for Moose. I will draw my own conclusions. Eddie Edwards said they were ready to stand up and fight for TNA. Eddie said he’s done everything in his power to help the company succeed. Myers said that the letters TNA meant everything to him. He said that TNA was The System’s home. JDC said if TNA is going to war, they will be Santino’s soldiers.
Moose said he has accomplished almost everything in TNA, but it’s not about winning titles, it’s about building a legacy. He said he would go to war with everyone in that locker room. He brought up the TNA World Title. He said that The System carried TNA on their backs. He said that he knows what he needs to do next: “Whoop that Trick.”
This brought out Trick Williams to the stage, who was with First Class. Trick told Moose to sit down. He talked about Moose losing to Leon Slater and said he must be stupid. Trick said it was his house now and talked about beating Joe Hendry and Mike Santana. He said that Moose didn’t have enough fire power for him.
Moose challenged them to get in the ring. Order 4 came out instead. Mustafa Ali said he would bury Trick like he was the Undertaker. Order 4 walked down the aisle. Ali insulted The System. Order 4 got in the ring and a brawl started immediately. Security tried to break it up. They abruptly went to commercial break. [c]
-Santino talked with The System backstage. Matt Cardona approached. Santino said that Myers and Cardona should have a reunion and take on the Great Hands next week.
-The Concierge came out to insult the crowd and to introduce the Elegance Brand.
(1) THE IINSPIRATION (Cassie Lee & Jessie McKay) & MARA SADE vs. THE ELEGANCE BRAND (Ash by Elegance & Heather by Elegance & M by Elegance) w/The Concierge
The Iinspiration brought out Mara Sade (formerly known as Jakara Jackson in WWE/NXT) as their mystery partner. Hannifan acknowledged that Sade had been in TNA before but he didn’t say her old name.
All six wrestlers fought in the ring and the Elegance Brand mocked the Iinspiration’s pose. The Iinspiration and Sade took them down and battled them outside of the ring. [c]
The Elegance Brand had the advantage coming out of the break. Lee made the hot tag to Sade. Sade did a fancy DDT on Heather. Everyone exchanged moves. Heather got a near fall on Sade. Sade tagged in Lee. The Iinspiraton got their finisher on Heather and Lee got the pin.
WINNERS: The Iinspiration & Mara Sade in 11:00.
(D.L.’s Take: Match started as mostly comedy, but the action picked up at the end. I think that Sade/Jakara has a lot of potential and will be a good pickup.)
-The Injury Report featured Gia Miller, Moose, and KC Navarro.
-Gabby LaSpisa tried to interview a despondent Mike Santana, but he just walked off. She interviewed Indi Hartwell instead. Indi said with Tessa Blanchard out of the way, she could focus on her quest for the title. Dani Luna and Victoria Crawford walked in. Victoria said they both have great potential. Dani challenged her to a match. [c]
-Eric Young and the Northern Armory backstage promo. Eric said he was the only one that could cleanse TNA.
-Leon Slater walked to the ring for a promo. They showed a clip of AJ Styles congratulating him in the inset. Fans chanted “You deserve it!” He said, “This is crazy!” He said it wasn’t only his biggest night, but the biggest night in TNA history. He complimented Moose. He also talked about AJ Styles and how excited he was to see him at Slammiversary.
Slater said he would bring the X Division back to its roots. He listed some of the X Division greats. He promised to make his reign special. He gave a big thank you to the Hardys for paving the way for the whole league. He asked them to come out.
Matt and Jeff Hardy came out to a huge ovation. They shook hands and hugged Slater. Matt talked about the special energy happening in TNA. He said they were the new tag team champions, and their “son” Slater was the new X Division champion. Jeff spoke next. He was cut off by the music of Steve Maclin,
Maclin said he could feel the energy too, but he wasn’t happy about what happened at Slammiversary. He didn’t like that outsiders had belts and didn’t even work in TNA. Maclin complimented all three wrestlers. He said they needed to hold the line and draw a line in the sand. He said TNA was his family. He said whoever decided to step up would be in for a war. Fans chanted “TNA!” Matt said that’s a war they would refuse to lose. The Hardys music played. They all held up their belts. Hannifan said that’s what true TNA champions looked like. [c]
(2) JAKE SOMETHING vs. MANCE WARNER (w/Steph DeLander)
This was a no DQ match. This was a brawl from the start. Chairs and trash cans were used. Steph’s interference allowed Mance to give Jake a superplex onto a bunch of chairs. Mance tried to hit Jake with a sledgehammer, but Jake moved in time and Mance hit the chair instead. Jake poured out a bag of tacks at ringside. Jake backdropped Mance into the tacks. Back in the ring, Jake hit the Black Hole Slam on Mance and got the pin. [c]
WINNER: Jake Something in 6:00.
(D.L.’s Take: Not really my cup of tea, but it was all action, and it didn’t overstay its welcome.)
-Clips of the Ethan Page/Santino Marella angle from NXT.
-Jacy Jayne and Fatal Influence walked to the stage. Jacy bragged about winning the TNA Knockouts Title. She talked about former champs such as Gail Kim, Awesome Kong, the Beautiful People, and Jordynne Grace. She said in the future, fans would think of Jacy. She said there were talented women in TNA but they were all over the place. She named Tessa Blanchard, Xia Brookside, Victoria Crawford, the Elegance Brand, Xia Li (whoops), and more and insulted them all. She said she always gets the last word.
(3) MATT CARDONA & BRIAN MYERS (w/Alisha Edwards) vs. THE GREAT HANDS (w/Mustafa Ali & Tasha Steelz)
The Hands had the initial advantage. Myers made a comeback and tagged Cardona. All four wrestlers fought. Cardona decked Ali. Alisha and Tasha fought at ringside. One of the secret services members chokeslammed Cardona. Skyler pinned Cardona. [c]
WINNERS: The Great Hands in 3:00.
-Frankie Kazarian joined the commentary team, but security and referees made him leave.
-Mike Santana and Joe Hendry did their ring entrances. [c]
(4) JOE HENDRY vs. MIKE SANTANA
Crowd support was split. They traded the advantage early. They traded armdrags. Santana gave Hendry a senton. [c]
Santana gave Hendry a clothesline. Hendry gave Santana a cutter for a two count. Hendry gave Santana an overhead slam. Hendry gave Santana an Olympic Slam for a two count. Hendry scored another near fall. Santana gave Hendry a cutter for a two count. Santana got a two count after a frog splash. They traded strikes and pin attempts. Santana rolled up Hendry for a three count. They went face to face afterwards and shook hands. Hendry left the ring and let Santana soak up the spotlight.
WINNER: Mike Santana in 14:00.
(D.L.’s Take: Evenly fought match that got good at the end. I was surprised about the clean finish. Looks like Santana will get the next title shot and Hendry will move on to something else.)
