[HOUR ONE]
-They opened with an aerial view of the arena as Joe Tessitore introduced the show. He hyped three championship matches were scheduled.
-A video recap aired of Seth Rollins beating Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel and then Bron Breakker attacking him last week with Paul Heyman and Bronson Reed siding with Breakker.
-Raw G.M. Adam Pearce stood mid-ring four minutes into the show and welcomed everyone to Raw. He said he was there to provide “a physical update” on Seth Rollins. At that moment, a black SUV arrived and Bron Breakker exited first with Seth’s World Heavyweight Title belt. He walked to the ring with Reed and Heyman. Wade Barrett said they hoped to get some answers to why they did what they did last week.
When they entered the ring, Pearce said they knew Seth was banged up coming out of Crown Jewel, but they’ll never know how banged up he was because of what they did. Pearce said Seth is sitting at home after having major surgery due to what Breakker did. He said had the unfortunate responsibility to announce he had to strip Seth of the title. He said they won’t be without a champion for long because they’ll crown a new champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He said there will be an “old school” battle royal to determine who will face C.M. Punk for the World Title. He milked the moment and then announced the battle royal “takes place tonight in Sacramento.”
Pearce told Breakker the belt doesn’t belong to Rollins “and it sure as hell doesn’t belong to you,” he told Breakker. He commanded him to hand over the belt. Breakker asked, “And what if I don’t?” Heyman asked Pearce for a moment and then he chatted with Breakker privately. Breakker then told Pearce to ask nicely and show him some respect.
Pearce said in a kind tone, “I respectfully ask you to hand over the championship.” Fans chanted “C.M. Punk!” Breakker walked up to Pearce and told him to say please. Pearce swallowed his pride but said with a tone of authority, “Bron, respectfully, I’m going to need you to hand over the World Heavyweight Championship now, please.” Pearce looked on edge. Breakker said, “That wasn’t so hard, was it?” He then handed the belt to Heyman. Heyman then passed it to Pearce in a respectful manner. Pearce left.
Heyman asked why everyone was so mad at them. He said they watched “Unreal,” too. “We’re the bad guys, we’re the villains, we’re the heels.” He said it’s easy to boo them, “but what did we do to deserve that?” He said The Vision had nothing to do with Rollins. “I didn’t leave the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns and betray my best friend C.M. Punk for Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins,” he said. “I pulled that move at WrestleMania because Bron Breakker is the future of WrestleMania.” Fans booed. He said he pulled those moves because deep in his heart, he always knew Reed was better than Reigns. More boos. Breakker put his arm around Reed’s shoulder. They smiled. Fans chanted, “OTC!” He said it was “Vision over Bloodline.”
He said Seth couldn’t shoulder the responsibility of leading The Vision into the future with his bum shoulder. He said he’s not the revolutionary or visionary or the leader of The Vision. “He’s a bum shoulder bitch,” he said. “So let’s set the record straight: Winners write the history.” He said Breakker took Seth’s spot from him. He said Breakker and Reed conspired to take it away from Seth. “They had the ambition, the need, the intensity to become WrestleMania man eventers.” He said that’s not revisionist history, it’s a revision of the future. He thanked everyone for their indulgence. “Oh, by the way, welcome to Monday Night Raw,” he said.
(Keller’s Analysis: Clearly this was designed to establish firmly that Heyman and his crew are the heels. Heyman discarded Seth pretty firmly there as if he were yesterday’s news and useless garbage.)
-They went to Tessitore and Barrett. Tessitore said there was massive news in there. Barrett said there were rumors, and now it’s been confirmed, that Seth had surgery.
-They showed Maxinne Dupri with Otis and Akira Tozawa backstage as Tessitore plugged her match against Becky Lynch. They also showed Stephanie Vaquer backstage. Then Rusev.
-A recap aired of Dominik causing Pearce to book J.D. McDonaugh and Finn Balor in a tag title match on this show.
-Backstage, Dom told J.D. and Balor that he didn’t say anything other than it’s unfair he has to defend his title every week while they’re complaining about facing to face A.J. Styles & Dragon Lee. Balor said they’ll take care of them. J.D. told Dom to handle his business without them, though. Balor and J.D. left. Roxanne gave Dom a pep talk. Raquel Rodriguez told Roxanne to get focused. “Where’s your head?” she asked.
-Styles and Lee made their entrance. [c]
-Tessitore plugged tickets for Smackdown and Saturday Night Main Event in Salt Lake City, Utah on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1
(1) FINN BALOR & J.D. MCDONAGH vs. A.J. STYLES & DRAGON LEE – WWE Tag Team Title match
The bell rang 26 minutes into the hour. Tessitore was critical of this being only the second defense by Balor and J.D. Then Barrett defended the strategy and called it crazy to defend it as often as some champions do. Tessitore pushed back and talked about fighting spirit and earning respect by being a defending champion. Lee got in some offense early. J.D. and Balor then took over at 3:00. Barrett said The Judgment Day are jealous of Dom because he has two titles, but they need to get back on the same page.
After J.D. knocked Styles off the ring apron as he was reaching for a tag, Styles knocked J.D. into Balor, knocking him off balance on the top rope. Barrett complained Styles hadn’t legally tagged in. Styles officially tagged in and went after Balor with rapid-fire offense. As Styles ran the ropes, J.D. pulled the rope down and Styles crashed to the floor at 4:00. They cut to a break. [c]
Balor and Styles were battling inside the ring. J.D. and Lee both tagged in at the same time. Lee got the better of J.D. Then Balor yanked J.D. to ringside, but Lee leaped over the top rope onto both at ringside. J.D. made a comeback and countered Lee into a powerbomb. Both were down and slow to get up. Styles and Balor then each tagged in at the same time. Barrett said this could be one of Styles’s last chances to win a title in WWE before he retires next year.
Styles hit Balor with a Phenomenal Forearm, but J.D. broke up the cover just before the third count. Styles hit J.D. with a Pelé kick, but J.D. countered seconds later with a Spanish Fly for a two count. J.D. landed a top rope moonsault on Styles. Balor then landed a Coup de Grace, but Lee knocked Balor off of Styles.
Lee leaped through the ropes, caught his legs on the ropes, but still hit J.D. at ringside. Styles rolled up Balor, but Balor rolled through and then set up a Styles Clash on Styles. Styles escaped and gave Balor a Styles Clash for the win.
Styles and Lee stood mid-ring with the belts raised as pyro blasted.
WINNERS: Styles & Lee in 13:00 to capture the World Tag Team Titles.
-They cut to Barrett and Tessitore at ringside who threw to the drama between the Usos.
-In the locker room, Jey walked up to Jimmy. Jimmy asked if he expected Jey to acknowledge him. Jey said he was wrong last week, but he was upset at himself for making the same mistake he made at Clash in Paris. Jimmy said Roman Reigns won’t be there tonight in the battle royal. He said he lost his title because he stopped believing in himself. Jey said he might be right, but Roman might be right too. Jimmy told Jey he better figure it out before the battle royal tonight. He said he’s going at everyone in the match including him. Jey asked if they’re good. Jimmy said yes. They shook hands.
-A graphic listed the battle royal participants.
-Dom made his ring entrance. [c]
(2) DOMINIK MYSTERIO vs. RUSEV – WWE Intercontinental Title match
As Rusev made his entrance, Tessitore said it has been six years since Rusev held a title in WWE. Dom leaped onto Rusev before the bell and threw him into the ringside steps. Barrett called it a smart move by Dom. Rusev clotheslined Dom as soon as he entered the ring. The ref checked on Rusev, then called for the bell 50 minutes into the first hour.
Rusev battered Dom early. The announcers discussed Dom’s new neck tattoo. Dom made a comeback at 2:00, but Rusev caught him mid-air. He set up a 619, but Rusev nailed him with a forearm to the head. Rusev then gave Dom a fallaway slam. Dom rolled to ringside. They cut to a break. [c]
Back from the break, Rusev was still in control. Dom snapped Rusev’s neck over the top rope. He set up a suplex, but Rusev blocked it. Dom, though, countered and scored a two count. Dom went for a splash off the top rope, but Rusev raised his knees. It wasn’t great looking. Rusev got hyped up and let out a “Game over!” yell. Dom retreated to ringside and grabbed both of his titles. Penta just happened to be right there to cut him off from leaving through the crowd. Rusev knocked Dom into Penta and then threw Dom back into the ring. Penta confronted Rusev. Rusev hit Penta. When Rusev re-entered the ring, Dom sent him into the ropes and delivered a 619, but Rusev caught his legs. Rusev discovered Dom grabbed the time keeper’s hammer. Rusev wound up to use it as a weapon, but the ref blocked him. As the ref was distracted by that, Dom kicked Rusev low and then hit the 619 followed by a frog splash for the win.
WINNER: Dominik Mysterio in 10:00 to retain the IC Title.
(Keller’s Analysis: Fast-paced, but not a ton to it. Some of Rusev’s offense felt a little off.)
[HOUR TWO]
-Penta entered the ring after the match and gave Rusev a tornado DDT. [c]
-Tessitore plugged that the WWE 1980s Hulk Hogan cartoon was now on the WWE YouTube Channel Vault.
-They showed UFC fighters Max Griffin and Nate Diaz in the crowd.
(3) BECKY LYNCH vs. MAXINNE DUPRI (w/Otis, Akira Tozawa) – Intercontinental Title match
Tessitore said Becky has seven defenses in 134 days, framing her as a fighting champion. Barrett brought up that Becky could be in a cross mood given what’s going on with her husband. Lilian Garcia did ring announcements. Dupri got a nice ovation as she was announced as being from Sacramento. Becky was roundly booed. The bell rang 10 minutes into the hour. Dupri got in an early roll-up, but Becky tossed her to the floor afterward. They cut to a very early break. [c]
Becky was in control after the break. Dupri rallied at 6:00 and landed a guillotine legdrop for a two count. Barrett said Dupri’s fighting spirit is now met by her expanding ring acumen. A minute later, Dupri avoided a Manhandle Slam and kicked Lynch. She then applied a Chad Gable-style anklelock. Becky broke free and applied a Disarm Her. Dupri rolled out of it and re-applied the anklelock.
When Dupri climbed to the top rope, Becky knocked her off balance. She then leaped off the top rope with a crossbody for a two count. Becky rolled to ringside and picked up her title belt. Dupri chased her down and threw her back into the ring. Dupri scored a near fall with a sunset flip. Becky hit her with the title belt and the ref called for the DQ. Tessitore said Becky’s frustration boiled over and she lost her composure.
Becky attacked Dupri afterward. Some fans chanted for A.J. Lee.
WINNER: Dupri via DQ in 10:00 so Becky retained the IC Title.
-A video package aired on WWE in Australia last week including some of the activities of wrestlers off-the-clock. Then clips aired of WWE in Tokyo.
-They went to Tessitore and Barrett at ringside. Barrett said he had a great time in Australia and can’t wait to return. Tessitore said Rhea Ripley broke her nose in Japan. They showed footage of her swollen nose. Tessitore wished her a speedy recovery.
-A vignette aired with Asuka and Kairi Sane. Kairi applauded after Asuka said she ruined Iyo Sky’s return home. She bragged about beating Rhea’s face with a DDT on the announce desk. Kairi said Rhea tore their family apart, so they have to pay. Asuka praised Kairi for showing her how ruthless she always knew she could be. Asuka and Kairi warned the entire tag division that The Kabuki Warriors are back.
-Tessitore touted a crowd of 10,884.
-Stephanie Vaquer made her ring entrance. [c]
-Heyman was standing outside of Pearce’s office expressing frustration. Pearce finally answered his door and made it seem like he didn’t know Heyman had been waiting out there. Pearce said Reed and Breakker had to come off the graphic for the battle royal. He said they are officially out of the battle royal. Pearce asked Heyman if he wanted them put back in the battle royal. Heyman said he would. Pearce told him, “Say please.” Heyman pleaded with him to put them back in and did say “please.” Pearce said, “That wasn’t so hard, was it?” Pearce then said, “No!” And he slammed the door.
Heyman turned and saw an angry Becky. Heyman said Breakker and Reed conspired against Seth and, because of his injured shoulder, he got down on his hands and knees, he got between her husband and Breakker & Reed and put himself in physical jeopardy until he had no choice. He told Becky she is now the bread winner in her family. He said she survived last week, but Seth did not. He said there is a vision that includes Becky. He said she can have a hot husband at home and an adorable Oracle on the road. “No need for an answer right now,” he said. “Think about it.” Becky grabbed him and told him to listen to her. She called him a “penguin-faced prick.” She said she never liked or trusted him, nor did her husband. She said unlike the people. whose coat tails he rode on, Seth used him and knew he was going to turn on him. She said they’re surprised it took so long. She told Heyman not to worry about when Seth returns, because he means nothing to Seth. “And you’ll be nothing without him,” she added. She said whatever nepo-baby he attaches himself to, Seth will kill them. She then walked away.
(Keller’s Analysis: It wouldn’t have made any sense to reward Reed and Breakker with a chance to get into the title match given they were partially responsible in the story for Seth’s injury. Pearce did a good job on this show in both segments standing up for himself while also balancing just wanting to get out of a situation as smoothly as possible. Becky came across as a babyface there, and it set up Seth for a babyface return. It’s notable that she said Seth never trusted Heyman and used him. It always felt like there was a possibility the story they told would have been they never really bonded and that’s why they didn’t really have chemistry as an act. That could also be trying to frame it that way after the fact because it was so obviously the case.)
(4) STEPHANIE VAQUER vs. ROXANNE PEREZ
Tessitore noted Vaquer had more wins in 2025 in WWE than anyone else. Tessitore also said this match ties Perez with L.A. Knight as the most active wrestler in WWE this year with 41 televised matches. The bell rang 36 minutes into the hour. They cut to a break at 3:00 after Rodriguez interfered. [c]
Back from the break, Perez was working over Vaquer’s arm. Tessitore called Perez “young and feisty.” At 10:00, Perez leaped off the top rope with a crossbody onto Raquel and Perez. Back in the ring, Vaquer gave Perez her Angel’s Wings finisher for the three count.
WINNER: Vaquer in 11:00.
-Rodriguez attacked Perez after the bell. Perez joined in. Nikki Bella ran out for the save. After Raquel gave Nikki a big boot, Vaquer springboarded at her, but slipped. Barrett attributed it to being beaten down in the match. Vaquer stood and was limping, and she looked frustrated. Perez and Vaquer dropkicked Raquel to ringside to join Perez. Vaquer and Nikki celebrated together.
-Pearce chatted with Lyra Valkyria backstage. She talked about how she and Bayley are having success, but they are different people. She said she has goals of her own. Bayley interrupted and asked her what was up. She said she hasn’t slept since last week after their big win. She said she had an idea for them. She said with their birthday coming up. Perez asked to know what it is. Bayley said she has to wait until next week and then left. Lyra looked stressed out.
-Heyman approached Breakker and Reed. Breakker said he is having a difficult time understanding why they don’t have a slot in the battle royal to regain the World Title “that belongs to us.” Heyman said there was a rookie in 2002 named Brock Lesnar who could have eaten through the roster in his first night, but he listened to him and five months later, he beat The Rock at WrestleMania. He said there was a “Best in the World rebel” in 2012 who was such a pain in the ass backstage, they were going to throw him out the door after 100 days as champion but he got 434 days because he listened to him. He asked how many WrestleMania main events The Big Dog got, and he asked who remembers The Big Dog. He said then he became The Tribal Chief and he listened to him and everyone remembers the title reign of The Tribal Chief. He told Breakker it’s not just who you can slaughter, but the backstage politics and machinations. He said they are the future of WWE. Heyman turned and left. Breakker said he has a lot to learn. Reed said, “Me too.” Breakker said he has a lot of people to hurt. Reed smiled and said, “Me too.”
-Tessitore hyped the battle royal as a graphic appeared on the screen. [c]
-Tessitore plugged tickets for Salt Lake City events again.
-Backstage, Nikki Bella and Vaquer were talking. Nikki said she couldn’t just let two sore losers beat her up. She said they’ve only been friends for a few months, and she has taken the division to the next level. Nikki said as champion, everything changes and she has a target on her back. She said anyone can take her out. She said she wished someone would have guided her when she was first champion. Vaquer told Nikki that she owes her one. Nikki said now that she made two enemies, she’ll probably take her up on that sooner than later. They hugged.
-The Usos made their ring entrance from the concourse through the crowd. [c]
[HOUR THREE]
(5) BATTLE ROYAL TO EARN A WORLD TITLE SHOT
After the break, the ring was filling up as Styles’s theme finished playing. Tessitore plugged NXT Halloween Havoc and noted that The Hardys would be defended their tag titles. El Grande Americano made his entrance next. Then Penta, L.A. Knight, and Punk. Punk joined in on commentary at ringside.
The bell rang 10 minutes into the hour. Ivar and Otis squared off mid-ring at the start. They each did cartwheels and then Otis hit a clothesline. Rusev eliminated Otis. Barrett said they have history. Rusev then tossed out Tozawa after Tozawa stood up for Otis. Penta and Rusev then battled. Punk said his greatest fear is facing Dom because he doesn’t clean his gear, and that’s why he’s called Dirty Dom. J.D. and Balor eliminated Lee and then laughed at him.
Rusev and Penta battled on the ring apron. Dom knocked them both to the ground to eliminate both of them. They cut to a break at 4:00. [c]
It was down to Ivar, Americano, Styles, Sheamus, Knight, Balor, J.D., Jey, Jimmy, Kofi Kingston, and Dom.
Sheamus struggled to lift Ivar. When Ivar charged at Sheamus, Sheamus backdropped him over the top rope. Sheamus gave him a high knee and then did lifted him. He then drove him into the ring apron. Ivar dropped to the floor to be eliminated. El Grande loaded his mask. Jey and Jimmy punched him and it hurt their hands. The Usos gave him a 1D and then threw him over the top rope.
Sheamus gave Dom a backbreaker and lifted him. J.D. and Balor saved Dom. Sheamus eliminated J.D. Sheamus then grabbed Balor’s chest and bashed him ten times and sent him to the floor. He did the same to J.D. for fun. Balor pulled J.D. away. Kofi then eliminated Sheamus from behind. Sheamus was enraged and went after J.D. and Balor at ringside. Styles tossed Dom over the top rope. Dom returned to the ring and tossed Styles over the top rope as the ref was preoccupied by the ringside fight. They cut to a break at 11:00. [c]
Back from the break, Tessitore touted a crowd “just under 11,000” and said it was packed. It was down to the Usos, Kofi, Styles, Knight, and Dom. Styles eliminated Kofi. Knight and Jimmy battled center-ring. Knight landed an inverted DDT and then leaped off the top rope over Styles and landed an elbowdrop on Jimmy. Styles then set up a Styles Clash on Knight, but Knight kicked himself free and then applied a Boston Crab. Jey broke it up with a superkick. Knight tossed a charging Jey over the top rope onto the ring apron. They exchanged strikes. Jey teetered. Jimmy intervened and kicked Knight. He then helped Jey back into the ring. Styles went for a Phenomenal Forearm. The Usos kicked him and then Jimmy eliminated Styles.
Knight lifted Jimmy, but Jimmy broke free. Jimmy tried to clothesline Knight over the top rope. They were teetering. Jey charged and knocked them to the floor. “What is Jey doing?” asked Tessitore. “His brother saved him twice!” Jimmy angrily yelled up at Jey. Dom then knocked Jey into position for a 619, but Jey backdropped him over the top rope to win.
Punk said Jimmy spent the entire battle royal helping Jey, but then Jey turned on him. He said he’s got what it takes and he has his work cut out for himself. Barrett said Jey acted the way Reigns has been trying to implant in his brain. Barrett said you need a killer instinct if you want to be on top and he “effectively stabbed him in the back.” Punk said it’s not stabbing anyone in the back because only one person gets the shot. Punk entered and had a staredown. Tessitore said the hot ticket to SNME just got hotter.
WINNER: Jey in 19:00 to earn a place in the match for the World Title against Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
