SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

WWE announced Wednesday the details on their annual “Tribute to the Troops” event.

The taping will take place on Tuesday, December 8 in Jacksonville, Fla. at the Veterans Memorial Arena. This is usually a Smackdown TV taping night, but WWE currently does not have a Smackdown taping scheduled for Dec. 8.

The special will then air on USA Network on Wednesday, December 23 as part of “WWE Week.”

The TV taping is open to “military personnel and their families stationed at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station, Naval Station Mayport, and Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base.”

“It is a privilege for WWE to entertain our military as a way to thank them for their commitment and sacrifice for our country,” said WWE CEO Vince McMahon. “Everyone at WWE looks forward to this annual celebration, and we are proud to partner with the U.S. Navy and Florida Governor Rick Scott to put smiles on the faces of the servicemen and women and their families.”
