– WWE appears to be trying to beat UFC to the punch on a new arena in Las Vegas. WWE is eying Vegas for the Money in the Bank PPV in June 2016, reports Prowrestling.net. UFC is scheduled to run their milestone UFC 200 PPV just a few weeks later in July.

WWE has pulled similar feats beating the NFL to Super Bowl venues. WWE held WrestleMania 29 at MetLife Stadium in April 2013 before Super Bowl 48 in February 2014. Also, WWE held WM31 at the new Levi’s Stadium in Northern California in March of this year before Super Bowl 50 in February 2016.

John Cena is officially advertised for the first WWE Smackdown of 2016. Cena is listed in a local news report for the taping on Tuesday night, January 5 in Laredo, Texas. This will be the first Smackdown on USA Network on Thursday, Jan. 7.

Jim Ross covered several wrestling subjects in his latest blog at jrsbarbq.com, including potential Survivor Series booking scenarios. Ross also re-visited the Reid Flair angle from Raw to promote Charlotte vs. Paige that continues to be the subject of discussion. “I find it counterproductive in this situation  that more people seem to be talking about the late, Reid Flair, who I knew his entire life, than they are about he actual title bout between Charlotte and Paige. Nonetheless I am very much eagerly anticipating that bout for which I have high expectations.”

Titus O’Neil filmed an episode of the reality TV series “Tanked,” where a company that specializes in aquariums builds a custom product for a celebrity. O’Neil preferred a University of Florida theme over WWE because “some of my finest moments in life took place there.” The episode is scheduled to air in April 2016 on Animal Planet.
