WWE TLC PPV News & Notes 12/13

– Sheamus is still WWE World Hvt. champion after using interference from Alberto Del Rio and Rusev to retain the WWE World Title over Roman Reigns in the TLC main event.

The bigger story was the post-match angle involving Roman Reigns and Triple H. Reigns snapped on Sheamus after the match, bringing out Hunter and Stephanie McMahon. After Hunter checked on Sheamus, Reigns snapped on Hunter, beating him down in the ring and out of the ring. The announcers played up the idea of Reigns’s career being over.

UPDATE: WWE played up fictional injuries to Hunter following the PPV. WWE posted on their website that Hunter “is being evaluated by WWE medical staff and will be observed overnight.”

UPDATE: Triple H tweeted Monday afternoon that it’s “Game On” with Roman Reigns, pointing to the follow-up to the angle.

– Dean Ambrose captured the Intercontinental Title from Kevin Owens for the only title change of the night.

– In other title matches, New Day retained the Tag Titles, Alberto Del Rio retained the U.S. Title over Jack Swagger, and Charlotte retained the Divas Title over Paige with help from Ric Flair.

– The Wyatts dispatched the ECW team of the Dudleys, Tommy Dreamer, and Rhyno in a tables elimination match to get back on the winning track.
